i have stayed at del rey, but rooms are garbage. Can someone recommend other nearby hotels with littler more nicer rooms and girls friendly?

Sportsmens Lodge is your best choice. But act fast as they are very popular and fill up quickly.

I second Sportsman's. Del Rey has dumpy rooms and Zona II is overpriced for what is offered. If you stay ar Zona II make sure to ask for a room with a window.

Everyone has their preferences, but almost everyone lists the top 3 including SL, Zona and LA.

If they are full, try the new rooms at Taormina (formerly Mona Lisa). They are nicely renovated.

Thanks for the correction. Hope it didn't sound like a flame. I was just reporting. See you soon for a beer.

I dont know about you guys but SL was just ok when i visited a few weeks back. Great food but the rooms I would not characterize as modern. I think the most modern chica friendly hotel I seen in SJ was the Taormina

Will be up to your standards if you pop for the upgraded rooms at Taormina ( Mona Lisa), and I hope they have improved the service in the bar; semi-hot bartenders but very languid service, the usual BS-ing with each other and their cell-phones and ignoring customers, but I really hope this improves. Someone in management needs to go in and slap some asses, it would increase their revenue, and, the waitpersons might make some more tips.

Oh sorry about the slapping asses comment, it was completely figurative, and not intended to advocate violence toward anyone. Although I have had women slapping my ass on occasion I have never thought of suing them for assault
