Booking a late April trip. Does anyone have any info regarding whether the Castillo might be open by then?

You might be lucky. I heard April is possible if everything goes right. But probably July is my guess

Hey Mongers!

1st post here on CRT. I saw Don at La Amistad 2 weeks ago and he said they didn't have an opening date yet due to Tico Time. Sounded like it would be a while.

Here is my "conspiracy" theory.
Hotel Castillo will open only after La Amistad closes.
That way none of the existing staff gets laid off, just transferred, and no training is needed for new staff.
Also all future reservations booked for La Amistad can be switched over to Hotel Castillo.
If you think about it it is a very efficient and smooth transitional plan.

This is completely WRONG. Both Hotels will operates together. The Castillo Hotel section will be finished in the next two weeks. We have started the construction of the restaurant and bar section a week age and should be complete by end of March. We will need to get final inspections and use and occupancy permits (final Inspections) in the first part of April. Because of Semana Santa we anticipate that this will not happen until the second week of April.

When the Castillo Opens we will start the remodel of Hotel Amistad rooms by sections (new Mattresses, TV'S, Refinish floors and furniture...). Estimated completion one month for the remodel AFTER the completion and opening of the Castillo. Both Hotel's will remain open during the remodel.

UPDATE: Both Hotel's will have the all inclusive option. We will also allow guests to use the all inclusive option in both Hotel's. I.E. guests of Hotel Amistad that are all inclusive will be able to use the all inclusive at the Castillo and All inclusive Guests of the Casillo will be able to use the all inclusive at Hotel Amistad. There will NOT be an additional cost for the first year but we reserve the right to add an additional charge in the future. As always, we will honor all reservations made prior to any price changes.

Room Pricing have not been determined at this time.

Hope that answer's everyone's questions.

If you have any questions please contact Darren at 1 877 260 3027.

Regards
Matt

Long overdue update. I am happy to hear things are progressing and an opening date is getting closer.
