The more I read, the more I think the Sportsman's Lodge is the place I want to stay. Is there a chica fee? Also, regarding the Amistad, I see they have a discount rate of 25% for a week with a CRT membership. Does that also apply to the all inclusive deal, and are there chica fees there? Thanks to the guys in the know :).

No chica fees in CRT-sponsor hotels like Sportsmens and Amistad. If you plan on making even a couple of trips to CR, the discounts offered by these hotels will more than pay for the membership fee.

No chica fee at either hotel. At Amistad the 25% discount does not apply to the all inclusive.

Both are good options.

Or, you could ditch the cardboard box, roll BD style and crash on a bench in Morazan Park.  Just kidding man!

Seriously, check out Hotel Morazan or the New Mona Lisa (forgot what they call it now) as I've heard they have deals.

I missed this post ... you total bastard!

Now that was a funny video!

Taormina (old Mona Lisa) is only $57 out the door for CRT members including breakfast. Email Guy.
$59 plus tax at SL isn't bad.
$94 all inclusive at La Amistadt works well too!

Why not stay at all 3?
Night one - SL
Night 2-3 La Amistadt
Last night - Taormina.

Great way to stay ahead of and lose the aggressive chicas!!!  :D

No chica fee at Sportsman or La Amistad. We are all different. I love the all inclusive package at La Amistad as I love to eat and drink and you can't beat the deal. I save money in the long run.

I'm not sure on a discount for the all inclusive package. You would have to check with the hotel. I have stayed at sportsman many times and love it there also. These hotels are only one block apart. No more then a 2 minute walk.

You will have a great time no matter witch hotel you decide to stay at. You can't go wrong with either.

Darm.

Gone, are these days. Price increase to $69 a nite, incl taxes. CRT is 10% after that.

I was at the Taormina (Mona Lisa) Dec 29 - Jan 6 and it was 49.95 + tax = $57, no chica fee. Pretty hard to
beat. Bar is usually empty...chica or 2 once in a while & mix drinks are 3000 colones. Stay at Taormina
but eat/drink/hang out at Sportsmen's (mixed drinks 2000 colones and pretty cheap casados). I think it
might be that if you stay on the 4th floor (Taormina) where (I think) the rooms have been renovated that the new/regular price is $69 + tax or something like that. I was told by Guy and one receptionist the $57 rate
is for anybody (not just CRTers) while they are still remodeling. The ground floor is finished and they did a really nice job on the restaurant, lobby, casino & bar. NOTE: I was not granted a CRT discount in the restaurant (nor the bar I think). There were a number of non-monger people staying there, small groups, Europeans, etc and I get the feeling when they finish remodeling the chica friendly days may be a thing of the past.
