Update. The manager this morning who was off yesterday knock on my door with a hundred dollar bill. Good thing since it is a nice place. She apologized and said it was a misunderstanding which I accept.

I Stayed at the Dunn Inn. The place looks good except on the last day they told me that the comforter had a stain on it for which I know, I did not put on there. They charge my credit card hundred dollars. However I was refunded the 100 dollars.
All is good in the end!

Bigmatt....Sorry to hear this..I had always liked Dunn Inn....they are going through some changes ( although that's not a reason to rip you off)

I recently canceled my reservation at Dunn Inn for Holloween (because of a cancellation i was able to get a room at SL)...... Maybe it's a good thing I did!!

curious as to the changes you mentioned. I am staying here in a couple of weeks 3 nights here 2 at SL with 4 days in the middle in Jaco. I have always stayed at Dunn's sister property (Hotel 9) when in Jaco. It gets me away from the full time craziness at Cocal, but is chica friendly (within certain guidelines) if I want to pull. I have always found management and owners to be top drawer and why I pay a small premium to stay with them

SL was fully booked when I called (for Halloween)....Dunn Inn was my second choice.

I inquired about availability (Halloween) when checking in at SL a few weeks back...the front desk girl said they just had a cancellation...and I took it.

I do like Dunn Inn...Just prefer SL if I can get one of the rooms I like!!

Dunn Inn has always been a good place. Clean, professional and most of the staff has been there for years. Good comfort zone.

I just spoke with a CRT member that I know well who checked out of Dunn Inn today.
Since he is busy having fun and isn't posting yet, I thought I would give you a heads up on the latest.
The good: Ian, at the front desk, provided excellent customer service, as did the rest of the staff.
Requests for extra towels, making up room during breakfast etc, were met just fine.
It was mostly quiet, has room safe, good A/C, shower fine, bed comfortable, but a little creaky. Expectations met.

The Bad: The restaurant is owned separately from the hotel and they do NOT allow working girls in the restaurant! This was a huge disappointment and a really bad business decision on the part of the restaurant owner. There was every indication that the restaurant was about to close down. The free breakfast was a couple of slices of stale toast and a slice of sandwich meat, with coffee, cheese and fruit plate. No fresh juice the first day. Lunch today was far better, in the bar area. It's a real shame things have turned this way, as it was a place I enjoyed staying as well. At least girls can go with you down the block to the restaurant at Mona Lisa. The pizza is good I hear. There are also places like SL, Theo's and sodas nearby, so don't give up on the Dunn just yet. Buy your rooms through Hotels.com or Expedia and it is a good value.

The Dunn Inn is great as long as you don't get 1 of the small rooms with no AC. Nice and quiet with a great staff. I agree about the restaurant though it gets old fast.....
