I heard rumor that there was a pretty great place to rent within a short walk to Cocal and it was a bit of a "compound" style in that it was gated a had a couple of guest houses and a pool. You could pretty much party, get stupid, have girls hang out with you, and not worry about a bunch of uptight neighbors..

Any ideas if that rumor is based in fact and leads to find it?

Thanks!

Look at these 2 both close. http://jacovip.com/JacoBeachVacationRentals/SouthBeach_CostaRica.html

The vista mar condos are nice as well and right behind cocal.

Most houses are only a couple minute cab ride away from everything anyways. I would worry more about finding the house and budget you want then how far away you are. If you are in Jaco your close enough :)

What Aray said. I will say that Vista Mar is great as we always stay there.

There is a large house just across the street from the Cocal entrance but no idea the name. I will be in Jaco tomorrow and will see what I can find out. I did have a group of clients who stayed in a house called 'Casa Gris" last week and it was a pretty nice place. It is about a kilometer from Cocal and about 500 meters east of the Taco Bar. Here is a Trip Advisor link:

When looking for houses in Jaco, make sure it says A/C somewhere as many houses in Jaco for rent do not have A/C and can make for a miserable stay.

If I find out the name or contact info for the compound right across from Cocal, I will get it to you tomorrow.

That is an awesome place, thank you!

Do you think there would be any issues in bringing in "guests" from Cocal, etc, for the evening?

I assume 1KM = take a cab for safety at night...?

The clients I had that stayed at Casa Gris (http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserRevi ... o_Pro.html) had multiple guests every night they were there so no problem on that. It is about 500 meters on past the Taco Bar from the Cocal so yes, after around 10pm I'd suggest a taxi.

On the compound right across the street from Cocal, I spotted a sign this morning and it is called "Cielo Azul" (Blue Sky in English). Looking on the internet, found a lot about it including some bachelor party videos. Here are some links:

If I can do anything else to help just let me know!
