Looks like non-stop service from Houston Hobby airport to SJO on Southwest in late 2015. Hopefully this will lower UNITED'S prices. Dallas's LOVE FIELD cannot fly direct to any foreign destination because of the Wright Admendment

Wright amendment is defunct as of September or October of this year. They can go wherever they want from Love field now.

I love SW - I'm looking for an announcement out of the city they currently fly from that makes the most sense Ft Lauderdale

But they also need a fairly full schedule - with daily flights - I'd pay like $50 more to fly SW - over Jet Blue - another great airline - I don't like all the nonsense JB is talking about following Spirits model

(Interesting - I just flew Spirit to San Jose - it left on time, however - you notice the lack of leg room, as well as the "Pre reclined" seats - pre reclined should rank up there with oxymorons like Military Intelegence or Jumbo Shrimp    )

OTOH. with a bag checked, it was $335 r/t - much lower - over $100 in fact than Jet blue - which is my cutoff to fly Spirit - I have no issues with their on time performance, or anything else for that matter - I do hate the lack of legroom - especially compared to Jet Blue - at least now - don't like the talks about charging for baggage, and reducing the legroom on their planes by adding seats.

Wright amendment no longer applies to destinations in the US. No airline can fly direct to an international city from Dallas Love Field. I wish you were right Jackietrehorn

I am right, the Wright Amendment is no more. I said nothing about international travel from Love.

Come on Jackie. You stated "They can go wherever they want from Love field now." In my vocabulary, "wherever" includes international.

DAL-SJO on Southwest would have provided some needed competition for AA's once a day usually a couple of hours late non-stop flt

I don't believe Love Field is set up for customs other than small passanger plans and then only 8 -5 . Unless things are changing.

...And given SouthWest Airline's heft, little doubt that they will. Here's the BG on that "Wright Amendment"--a quick read: http://atwonline.com/blog/wright-stuff
