I'm coming in tomorrow to SJO and have an early flight on Sansa to another part of the country. Can anyone refer me to a good hotel near the airport? Also, is there any place near the airport to pick up some entertainment for the night? Obviously if entertainment is possible, I'd like the hotel to be chica friendly! Thanks in advance!

A number of good, reasonable hotels (Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, etc.). Just register for two, and birng your guest later on. The nearest sex venue, is D'Pelufo's on the Heredia Road, about 5 minutes from the airport. I really don't know if they offer "take-out." To the best of my knowledge, Alajuela does not any take-out venues like the Hotel Del Rey or Sportsmens Lodge in San Jose.

I stayed a night at the new Courtyard by Marriott SJO Alajuela a couple weeks ago and it had a comfortable bed and free airport shuttle. Looks like a last minute weekend night is about $65.
