i saw the teasers for it, but missed the program, imo it didn't appear very representative either, but maybe just representative of a survivable crash

The crash is not really representative, in my opinion, of what most crashes would be (controlled flat descent onto flat terrain). But it's the first time, and they wanted to make sure the recording equipment would not be destroyed. In the future, perhaps someone can get some funding to get equipment that would instantly download the data wirelessly to a remote location. They still got a lot of good data, it appears. I wish more of the show had been devoted to that aspect.

NASA tried a similar crash several years ago with a B720. They screwed-up, missed their mark and wound-up causing a huge inferno. These guys did not want a repeat of that episode. A big fire would have destroyed all of the data that they had recorded. Telemetry would be great but it is expensive and IF you have a fire you would lose all of that expensive gear. Need someone with deeper pockets than Discovery Channel to fund it.

Still, for what it was it was a worthwhile crash. Maybe this will motivate others to carry on this sort of work and do some much more realistic and spectacular crashes!

They seemed to get the most bang for their buck, for a low budget production. Whoever does this next should have a serious remote control system for the aircraft. I mean, jeez, they were using an RC model plane controller. Also, I don't see why they didn't just use a GPS-ILS and set a steep glideslope. The pilot could have engaged the thing right before he bailed out the back.

One thing you have to keep in mind if you watch TV or movies... Everything you see is nothing more than another person's dreams or night mares, it is all BULLSHIT and not real.

Just take notice of the content in TV and movies..... mostly violence, destruction and shit.
TURN OFF THE TV and throw it out on the street.

Phuck TV, Phuck MOVIES

Wait a minute...tv & movies aren't REAL??

Who's responsible for this outrage?
