He was there in early-July and kindly offered me a ride to the airport. I thanked him and took the bus.

Calvin was there two weeks ago, he offered me a ride to the airport. I agreed, but he didn't show up. The girl at the front desk said Calvin couldn't make it, so their other driver will take me to the airport.
