Gentlemen,

I am toying with the idea of a 2 or 3 week visit to SJO. Does anybody know or have experience with getting a room for that long and getting some sort of discount also? Just trying to see what can be budgeted.

Thanks.

If you are looking for a quiet place check out the hotel aranjuez. They have some apartments near the hotel that are nice and reasonably priced. I stayed there for a few weeks last year. It's not a party place like the sl or dr. Just a quiet place to go after you are done partying and want some rest.

Check out El Sesteo in Sabana. Nice pool and a good free breakfast.

You did not indicate how much you are looking to spend. La Amistad could be an option for you. Matt will give you a discount for long term, plus they have some rooms with efficiencies and they also provide laundry service for free.

The Freebird would work for this. No guards or reception so it feels like a private apartment. You have a code to the outside gate and let yourself in privately.

I stayed at the Hotel Del Rey for 61 days in 2006 and got tired of saying Hi to 5 different people every time I left my room.

Almost any hotel will be willing to talk about a discount for an extended stay and if you are willing to pay cash they really will listen to a reasonable offer. Years ago I use to stayat the Gran Via and got a room with breakfast for 2 weeks at a 30% discount.

Golly, you should have your own private barstool at the Blue Marlin with a brass plaque on it in your name after that. How many $10 elevator charges does that amount to after 61 days? You must know all of trumpet boy's songs by heart. :D :D :D
