Had a brain fart last weekend and left my laptop in backtop in the SL. Had been writing all day, stayed into the evening and was chatting up a chica close to time to close. Closing time came and with my bag at my feet just walked out the door as not accustomed to having it with me. Rookie mistake, no matter how safe the setting. Lucky for an honest staff. Shirley the bar manager picked it up and put it in safe keepings for me. That was my security breach for the year and luckily it happened there. And of course, Bill as all over it to help me out and see if anyone had picked it up.

I did the same thing with a cheapie Nokia phone a few months ago. Picked it up at the front desk the next day.

I have not only left my computer. I have left other things of great value to me and they have always returned them. Even my sunglasses.... You have to appreciate that..

This sort of service is unusual anywhere, much less in CR. Kudos to Bill and his staff. No wonder you have to book months in advance for the good rooms.

I realized I had left it when I was halfway down the hill to my house. Went back but the gate was closed for the night. The fact that it was at the SL made me not so freaked out. I had a feeling it was in good hands there, but I won't press my luck, that is for sure! Mental letdown for me..

Don't try that at the HDR. The staff at SL is as top notch as it comes to integrity.

well a real veteran would have looked at his hands and feet prior to standing up from the barstool. then upon standing looked down at the surrounding area he was leaving. then you would have been able to leave SL and survey the horizon in confidence.
