Lowest rate posted at the desk today is 51,300 clone. That's for a standard. They do have economy rooms but don't always post the price. That's a very busy week so you're not going to get any bargains on the room. That said it never hurts to e-mail them and ask their best price.

You might be right, but before I stayed at the HDR (A dump and a rip off in so many ways - IMO - others don't agree and thats their right) I might have at least checked - the way you phrased your post it looks like you did not even check with them, just assumed.

You are also firing real specific questions best asked to a particular property - we can give you general assistance, but some of your questions are best directed to the property itself.

Stayed at the Copacabana numerous times - hotels in Jaco ajust the rate to how much they can possibly screw the guest.

Also - when converting colonies to dollars - just use 500 c to the $ - makes it easy - 50,000 C = $100 dollars. While maybe not exact to the penny, its close enough.

I would suggest your wingman make sure that's $55 and not 55,000 colones.

Hey Lee, the HDR was offering a low season special- 55.00 rooms a while back. A few reports mentioned it and think they had it advertised on AMcostarica.

Last weekend I took Interbus with another guy to the Sportsmen. He was spending one night at the Sportmen and another at the Del Rey. I was shocked he got a better rate at the Del Rey. Ran into the guy later that weekend at the Del Rey. I asked which place he preferred. he told me the Del Rey. Personally I could not disagree more, but to each his own.
