I am planning on attending the CRT anniversary party, but I want to book at the Del Ray. Does anyone think it would be to early to do so now? I have heard of hotels loosing reservations and I don’t want to be stuck without a hotel during that week. Unless I can convince a chica to take me home for a TLN every night.

Hazel,
I don't think it's ever to early to make a reservation,
you can always cancel it later if you have to.
But some places won't allow reservations that
far in advance. I tried to make reservations at the
Amon Plaza for the party in September, but was told
I couldn't that far in advance. So, since I have not
stayed at the Hotel Del Rey before, I will in September,
and already have my reservation. If you are worried about
them loosing your reservation, reserve the room now,
then a month to six weeks prior to your arrival, send
them an email checking to make sure everything is
still in order, then a week to ten days before you arrive do it again.

I have a reservation at the Del Rey for August. I have stayed at the Del Rey several times a year for the past seven years. In that time I only had one problem with a reservation and that was quickly resolved by management. So do not think you would have a problem in September especially if you follow Shy One's advice.
