Bktuna:

I have NO beef with with you (other than your damn titty twisters@@@@!!!!)....and am not going into details on this specific and particular matter, unless, of course, YOU give me full license to do same.

Let's just leave it at the fact that had I not informed Zunbake3 that Clarion was CLOSED....he would have arrived into SJO; taken a cab to Clarion; and found it closed. Nobody else troubled themselves to inform Zunbake3 that Clarion had been SHUT DOWN (he wasn't monitoring the Clarion closure thread; why would he???).

See......everybody picks and chooses which threads and such they're gonna monitor on this web site......

Bktuna has been nothing but a swell guy to me (except for the titty twisting!!!!)....and that's how it remains with me....

THAT is what I call a "brotherhood"....just because one guy don't give you the 411....doesn't mean another bro don't give it to you......as long as you got that 411 BEFORE your trip....all is good....right?....... 8)

Steven1,

I contacted Zunbake3 directly to offer compensation for the reservation slipup. Basically he was nice enough to book the Clarion through me. When they got closed, I posted it as soon as I knew, but at their request waited a few days to see if they would re-open before contacting open reservations except the onesfor that week. This had happened twice in the past for three day closures. In that time Zunbake found out they were closed before I directly contacted him and he was due in the following week. I apologized and offered to compensate him for the inconvenience. He has not to date taken me up on that offer but it still stands. I certainly am not infallible and in retrospect would have contacted not only the clients immediately affected but all open reservations. I hope this clears up your allusions to something sinister.

As to the hotel this thread is about, I have never suggested anyone not stay there. All should stay where they are comfortable, welcome and receive good value.

I started this post to really say my buddy Scott has a new job and is one hell of a good guy. I have met Tuna a few times and have always thought he was a hell a good guy as well. I will go spend some money with my buddy Scott - and for sure with Boyd at HLH as well.

Based on the opinions - Dunn Inn is definitely Done Inn for some.

Peace,

DR

Dude......

I got no beef with you or your operation at the HLH.

However, I do believe you might want to reverse the first two sentences below. FIRST, Zunbake3 booked through you for the Clarion. Then what? He was noticed BY ME 3 days before his arrival that the Clarion was SHUT DOWN and that he best make some other arrangements. That's the story.....My only role was informing Zunbake3 that Clarion was CLOSED for his reservation dates.

If you need copy and past emails to DOCUMENT what went down....simply ask.....I'll be happy to post same.

The bottom line is that Zunbake3 got taken care of and he should NOT be given SHIIT by CRT "heavyweights" that he somehow has disrespected or defiled the "brotherhood". It's his money, afterall. What would have happened had I not advised him the Clarion was CLOSED for the dates of his stay?????? And, plus (for me)....no more titty twisters!!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa :P :P :P :P 8)

One final word on this issue. Boyd you did not offer me concrete compensation. You said come down to the HLH and you would make it up to me. That is rather vague to say the least. I just want to set the record straight here Boyd because I feel the statement you made here that you actually offered me compensation is not correct and puts me in a bad light that makes me look unreasonable. I disagree totally with that. If Steven1 had not given me the heads up 2 days before my visit I would have been screwed big time. Anyhow, I would personally like to move on from here. I just spent another great 3 days at the Dunn Inn, I like the place and that's all that is important to me. If other members don't want to spend their hard earned money there for whatever reason that's their business. We are all adults here and the few members here that want to ignore the facts in my situation and attack me are silly in most eyes here. Trust me on this, I am in SJO quite a bit and spoke to many people who agree with me on this. Boyd as far as we are concerned, you know I have no beef with you whatsoever and I promise to drop by to say hello in early September and see the good things have have done with the HLH.

I stay at the Doubletree Cariari. Love the place. However when downtown, we like to go
to the new restaurant / Bar at Dunn Inn. It is nice and everyone there has always treated
us well. I like the food there so go figure. We usually head to Dune Inn for lunch then
to HLH for desert.

Zunbake3,

You are correct, i did contact and offer to make it up to you and for you to stop by and see me. As I remember that was about exactly what I said. The offer still stands. I had no idea Steven1 informed you or you saw my post on the closure on CRT personally. It really does not matter, I should have stayed on top of it better. I once again apologize for the inconvenience and have no issues whatsoever. I have no time for a 30 page thread discussing this with Steven1 who I also have no issues with.

I've seen all the bad posts about the Dunn and I can't comment on them although I generally trust my CRT brethren's advice. I only know I've stayed there three times and I never had any issues. They got rooms for $49 to $59. You pay for what you get.

Here is an exact quote taken on Saturday from an email their front desk sent me. Their standard rooms are $10 cheaper than the Deluxe Queen quoted below. I wasn't clear if they didn't have any standard rooms (with CRT discount) available or any std. rooms available with or without discount. In any case, they cost $10 more than you indicated.

"this are the rates for deluxe queen since for those dates we do not have any standard room available, with CRT discount:

deluxe queen $62+ taxes (total $70.06) per person and night.

please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

have a nice day!"
