Have my first CR trip reserved in April (8-12). Had already reserved at HDR long before finding this board. From reading post, I see that many people suggest not staying there. I know about the crazy 10$ fee for bringing a quest to the room.

What are the other cons to staying there?

I read in one post that a member thought the girls negotiated differently when they knew the guest was staying at the Hotel Del Rey. Could someone explain this to me?

Thanks in advance for any help with my questions

Call the Sportsmen's, La Amistad, Dunn Inn or Castillo and get a room there, then cancel your reservations @ the HDR. Your trip will be much more enjoyable IMHO. Plus a much more laid back atmosphere, the money you save in chica fees can go towards upgrading your room at one of these fine establishments, Did I mention you couldn't pay me to stay at the HDR?? Oh yeah all of the aformentioned hotels will give you a CRT discount on rooms and food. AND NO CHICA FEES!!!

Thanks 911.

I just got my CRT membership and elected to pick up my card when I arrive in April. If I book online at let say SL then would I get my discount when I checked out and just present my card at that time?

Thanks for the info. The more I read the more I am deciding to cancel at HDR.

Also hoping I can find someone who will be there at the same time that could sort of put me under their wing for my first trip.

I have been to the Dominican Republic many times for p4p so I am not a total newbie only a CR newbie.

I would let the SL know when you check in that you are picking up your card, I don't see any problem with that.
As your math equation says, I think you will enjoy your stay much more at the SL. The rooms at HDR suck and the 24/7 noise is unreal, a better experience will be at one of the venues I mentioned. As it gets closer to your dates keep an eye on the roll call section, there will be some peeps down at that time I assure you. Since it is your first trip you might want to consider a tour with Pops. If your coming solo it's not a bad way to be initiated.

On the other hand, if you want to throw lots of money around so you can drink and phuck 24 hours a day, then go ahead, stay at the Del Rey. That's one of the main reasons the chicas love guys who stay there, they assume those guys are part of the clueless newbie bunch with lots of cash and no sense: "You stay here? Yes? Me good massage, me good blowjob. 100 dollars. Yes? Let's go!" 15-25 minutes later she'll be back downstairs seeking her next sucker, er, customer.

I usually stay at SL, and just show them my card upon check in. It's that simple!!!

More on Brother Pop's wingman service: he was an Atlanta homicide detective so you automatically have someone trained, to watch your back; he's got a great fund of stories; he knows all the venues and options in SJO; he's not just about monger venues--knows all manner of other stuff too. The best way to hit the ground running. http://www.popsguideservice.net
My tagline for him is--He's not an expense, he's an investment"

ok, got confirmed at SL and canceled confirmed at HDR.

Also sent a PM & email to pops to reserve his services. Great suggestion. After reading his website I can see that he would be a wealth of knowledge for my first CR trip.

Now I just got to get March to hurry up and get over so April will arrive....LOL

Thanks again everyone for the suggestions.

That's the power and beauty of the Board and the Brothers--true info dispersed and mistakes prevented. It's all good; some's just better...
