honestly, rent a car and drive, or take a bus, or interbus, or something. A cab will run you about 200 or more there and back...

What a waste of 3 $70 sessions...

agree, i know it sounds scary if you have never done it, but the interbus to jaco or MA is like 16 bucks and its pretty damn comfortable.
i personally like to leave early in the morning, less traffic
but in answer to your question. no, good luck though

shop around for a better price ...200 sounds very high ....last year i got there and back for a 100...yeah we had to shop but we got it ...we started out at the bus station (missed the early bus) then offered every taxi 50 until 1 guy took it...then once in town ...when a taxi would drive by we had them stop over and told them what day and time we wanted to leave and could only pay 50 ...one of them sent a friend with a new taxi to our hotel and off we went at the time we wanted to go

Hey Guys thanks for the feedback. I know there are less expensive options but I will be short on time and am willing to pay the premium if necessary. I hoped someone else would be heading that direction to cut the cost in half. If anyone has a favorite taxi please let me know as well as cost.

LaDiablo,

Interbus to Jaco is more like $29 unless you're a Ch*ld under 12 (PLUS $10 more for your surfboard if you're bringing your own). Also, unlike when going with a cab, private driver or rental car, its not like you get much choice with Interbus how early in the morning you get to leave. Your choices are either 8:15AM or 2:30PM. With those other travel methods you actually can leave as early or late as you like. Also, its not really fair to compare Interbus's ONE WAY shuttle fare to QBF's ROUNDTRIP taxi fare. That misleadingly makes the comparable cab fare seem twice what it actually is. Besides that, as Chili pointed out, QBF's estimate was definitely on the high side even for a roundtrip (and thus overstated his case). Of course, Chili's rate was similarly surprising on the low side. My guess is that a more likely negotiated rate would be something in between those 2 amounts but probably closer to $100 than to $200. Now if you split those fares in half to get the one-way equivalent and you split it in half again by sharing that cab with another monger, then Chili's taxi fare drops down to just $25/pp each way which is actually less than Interbus and, unlike Interbus, you get to choose your departure times.
