"Well damn, should be able to get someone to drop you off at that nearby airport, that's not so bad. " Yes I do.

But to me the convenience to wash my hands of the situation once I'm on the plane is worth it alone. My option might be slightly more expenssive, but dropping a car off and taking the shuttle to the terminal is the way to go for me.

I'm waaaaaay to lazy to look in the long term parking for a decent spot, then carrying my luggage etc...

There's better more affordable options, but I always side with convenience and piece of mind.

Wyndham Hotel offers covered and uncovered parking along with shuttle service. Not positive but I think it's $8-9 per day. It's close to the airport and easy to get to even with all the construction going on there.
That was already covered. It might be $8-9/day if you book it through the hotel, but that would not be any savings over the $6-7 day that Jester is already getting. Besides, he can already get a much better rate for parking then either of those at the Wyndham if he books through the link I provided earlier:

Wyndham recently changed their parking so it is all automated. Push a button to get in and insert your credit card when you leave, no people involved. I'm guessing with UnitedAirportParking.com you would have to go inside with your receipt to make it work? Anyone ever used UAP out of MIA? Also, it's not necessary to book in advance to park at the MIA Wyndham, you just show up.

Or maybe they send you some passcode that you can punch into a key pad. While we're on the subject of hotels, it should also be pointed out that you can get "free" parking (typically up to 2 weeks) if you stay a night at some of the airport area hotels. This probably wouldn't be anything Jester or you other S. FL guys would be interested in, but if you're driving down from someplace like Tampa, Orlando or Melbourne and have to stay over to catch an early flight, you might be interested in doing that and taking advantage of that chance to check out the S. Beach nightlife for one evening before going down to CR. Unfortunately, this used to make more sense when gas prices were less. Lately it costs almost as much in gas to drive that far than it does to fly (plus all the extra time it takes). Believe it or not, while there are sometimes really good deals to CR leaving from MIA or FLL, when you book it from TPA the price goes up way more than the price of a SEPERATE r/t ticket for the TPA>MIA leg.

This is true, also from Orlando, and and at times I have played the role of CRT safe house for my northern and central Florida brothers looking to save a cien or two and fly out of south florida. The mind boggles how AA figures these thing out BUT sometimes it works the other way around. For example. GR (LA) and RM (NY) consisitently get fares to GIG that I can never find direct out of MIA...even when they CONNECT thru MIA :? :? :? Go figure.
