I would add -- and this needs to be verified -- that if the ticket is refundable there usually is no additional charge, ever.

From my past 3 years of travels (250K miles) on American, this seems to be the case. Generally, the non-refundable tickets tend to be more like $80-$150 more on average, but thinking about multiple changes -- it may be cheaper.

Again, needs confirmation, but may be another tip.

Here is another option I used this past trip which cost me 10k cokones and a quick visit to my Doctor at the pharmacy.

I called AA(favorito airline  ) the morning of my departure from SJ and informed the nice lady I was ill after having some pescado the night before, very effective when calling at 5:30 am and having had too much alcohol and sexo :) I told her of my illnes she said if I had a Doctors note they would waive the fee $150 in this case (non refundable seat). Went to tthe pharmacy they filled out an official form put a couple of stamps on it, presented the form at the check in desk and no problemas.

Note, call the AA 800 number as the Sabana office does not open until later in the morning. The 800 number is available 24/7, I would also take the name of the service rep assisting you.

QBF,
Don't K*D yourself. HolaB's got a little black book that's full of coochies. Matter of fact, his "little black book" has more pages than the Dallas Texas phone book!

"Walk softly but carry a big tollhouse". That's his motto!

Hey MG,

He never said anything about "no coochies", just cookies. All's I wanted to do was clarify to him that cookies are nowhere near the top of what I'm looking for ;)

If cookies help me get coochies, then I'm all for those round morcels, but only b/c I want coochies...

YEAH, I'm single track minded, but what a great track it is...

Oh, believe me. That little bastard gets more pu$$y BECAUSE of those damn cookies. :P He's learned that the way to a chica's heart (and loins) are with a few peanut butter cookies and $40! Nothing wrong with that! Now, if he'd only write his 1st trip report!!! :P

I'm pretty sure that we'll be waiting till WELL PAST hell freezing over before that guy writes his first report...

By the time he does, none of the information will be pertinent.
