I would first like to publicly thank everybody who has been helping me organize my trip. Since I am staying long-term I have been asking many questions and everybody has been patiently responding.

I have one more. Because I run everything through my business, it is not as bad for me to stay in hotels. Does anybody know if I could negotiate a discount at Presidente if I am willing to guarantee 35 days staying out of two months (will be travelling)? Is something like this to complicated for a place like Costa Rica or even at 100 rooms Presidente has no problem filling up the place so there is not an incentive for them to care?

I am trying to guage whether I am trying to put my round peg into the wrong square hole (people who love to play with words have fun with this sentence).

If possible, is there a manager I can contact? Also, would it be possible to form a relationship with this person so I can bend the one chica per day rule if staying for so long?

Thanks again for all of your help.

I'm not sure if you are aware that there is no one chica per day rule. It is one chica at a time rule. You can take up as many as you can handle in a day, just no more than one at a time.

I don't know if they would be willing to negotiate a longer stay dscount. It probably depends on their occupancy rate at the time. You can email them. I know that the CRT contact used to be Maria or Wendy, don't know if they are still around.

Actually, since I am also targeting the college age crowd to go out with this rule could be a blessing in disguise.

Meaning that the hotel automatically functions as a wingman. I could mention after-party and if the girl's friends wish to come along I can just say my hotel does not allow it.

I just did a search and found his name: Daniel Mikowski H. (that's the way he signed a letter that was posted in the dress-code thread)

I have been in touch with William Vargas

Actually, their price is fine. At the VIP discount rate I would gladly pay for 35 nights of the Grandpa Spa room. Unfortunately, they have limited availability for certain rooms. William has basically (professionally but transactionally) communicated these are our available dates if you want the room send me your credit card.

Since I would be spending over $5K (with bar), I had kindly requested a contact person to help me manage my stay while I came and went...He essentially ignored it (again being professional but not attaching significance to it).

Given their near full occupancy, I can understand why the customer service is completely transactional.

Orange...since you have experience with Dan is there a chance that he would value someone committing to 35 nights and that William is missing the greater significance? Or this is not a big deal and if I want someone to appreciate this I need to be contacting a hotel that is not fully occupied?

Again, I am fine with their price.

Thanks.

I would suggest emailing, or even better, calling and asking to speak with Daniel. He's the boss there, the hotel's general manager. He was the one who had to explain the dress-code policy when there were some complaints. I assume he has to answer to the owners as far as revenues go. If they are or expect to be close to full occupancy, anybody with any business sense will tell you that they be dumb to accept lower than their regular rates. If they have many vacancies for that time period, I can't see why he wouldn't take the sure thing, even if you offer him less than the normal rate. But some business owners/managers (in CR and everywhere else) just don't know shit about business, so you can't assume anything.

The problem in dealing with the Prez is that it's too big of a place, you are not dealing with the owner directly. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I would like to say that Daniel proactively emailed me; I called him and then he thoughtfully asked me if he could call me back.

He explained that the Presidente does not get many extended stay requests. Therefore his staff was not trained to handle this request and responded in a professional, yet transactional, manner. It actually is a good training lesson (I need training everyday on countless things in my life).

Given that they are fully booked on certain days, but I also wish to travel around the country, Daniel and I are going to try and construct a schedule that works for both of us.

I might also contact Eric at the Mhotel or Bill at the Sportsmen Lodge as backup hotels if there is a scheduling conflict. It would be cool anyway to sample the different places in the city so it could be a blessing in disguise.

I can then store my stuff at the Presidente and pay the CRT rate at one of these hotels should space be available.

Thanks again for everybody's input and I look forward to meeting all of you. I would also like to publicly acknowledge the owner of this site. Not only is the CRT VIP discount obviously reaping immediate benefits, but also he has counseled me on trying to plan a trip that will work.

Michael

I just wanted to let everybody know that I worked with Daniel to coordinate a flexible two month stay in a grand spa suite. He has been incredible and prompt to work with as there have been a few moving parts to coordinate a stay of this length.

Feel free to look me up and I am looking forward to meeting alot of you.

Also, thanks again to everybody for their help.
