Sounds like it is worth checking out at the very least. It seems like a welcome addition to the field of chica friendly hotels in San Jose (as there are so few).

Kind of a pet peeve of mine that you go to all the trouble of paying for a room and all of a sudden you are throughly scrutinized and caused to cough up a few dollars more for a guest fee as well as having to have her surrender her cedula or license.

Are all 10 rooms usually booked up in advance? I am thinking of staying there long-term and wondering if there is any wiggle room in pricing. The more near full capacity they are, the less wiggle room.

Thanks.

Harvoolio,

I can't tell you with absolute certainty whether or not the rooms are always booked up, but I would make a guess that they are not. I have made it a habit to visit the place one night every trip (about once a month, and my visit is usually on the weekend) and the place consistently looks dead. Short of special parties and activities going on there (i.e. halloween, st. patrick day, etc), I rarely see ANYONE in there but the staff.

Not a knock on them, I think it's a crying shame, actually. The place is absolutely stunning and I enjoy the "higher class" ambiance that it posesses every here and then as an escape from the gulch. Don't drink there unless you don't mind exhorbant prices, though... the prices of drinks are comparable to some Manhattan fu-fu bars I've gone to ( probably why the bar is dead everytime I go). Whatever...

CRT member Cyrano, my sometimes-wingman, has stayed there several times and loved the place, so hopefully he'll pop in here with more details or just contact him.
