IMMIGRATION in MIA is hit or miss. Always go to line 1, 2, or 3. It moves fastest for US Citizens. An imigration office told me that once.

New CUSTOMS workflow. Landed in MIA Jan 1. Everyone had to form another line and pass both carry on and checked bags through scanners at Customs. There were only two lines.

Looking forward to 1st Discounted Spirit Air trip to CR via FLL in April.

YO OJ's running thru MIA:

If you have to make a connection on the trip back to Miami you had better have at least an hour between flights to make it.....if you get in to MIA a little late....forget it. And that is even compounded if you have check in luggage. If you are changing airlines make that 1.5 hours or more between connections. It's really difficult for smokers because they either have to go outside the terminal or go to D-34 where they have the glass enclosed smoking room sometimes referred to as the Leper colony.

One little secret that perhaps only Circus would know....They will detect mini bottles or larger of booze in your carry on but the walk thru metal detertor will not register them (mini vodkas) if they are in your pockets....YAWHOO. I've walked thru with 3 or 4 going and coming back on my last two trips. Sure beats those wonderful prices at the Miami (or any airport) terminal bars when you get an adult beverage.....what a phucking rip off.

Beware of concourse food, especially hot dawgs and salads.....very suspect. I do like the Cuban restaurant in the terminal where food is usually prepared constantly and is more fresh.

I've been drinking vodka every day for 45 years and I have certainly never found it to be habit forming.

Its always hit and miss everywhere. Ive had 2 hour waits for customs in New York, and Ive also been the first one in line before.

Same with MIA, Ive had long waits, and some that were very quick. Coming from Canada I have to clear customs ( well not anymore ), and Ive made connections in the 45 minute range without to much hassle.

Honestly, Im not sure why MIA is hyped as this big bad airport that causes so many problems? If anything, you can get ahead of people because of the longer then normal walk.

Ohh and if you think that is a long walk, fly into Hong Kong or Beijing nad get a shitty gate. They have trains lug you around its so phucking far
