I was in Jaco 2 weeks ago, they are NOT girl friendly at all. Try Paradise or Tangeri. I stayed at Paradise, it was perfect for my needs bed/shower/A/C- cheap-no chica fees. If you are looking for something nicer try Tangeri-I've heard good things about it

Tangeri is excellent! Very chica friendly - I was just there about 4 days ago for 2 days.

This is a very good hotel. In addition to being chica friendly, they take care of you in a big way (great value).

I'm looking at Tangeri's site right now. It doesn't look bad, but the rooms look very basic and the site lists the price for a standard room for 2 at $80 per night during the week and $96 per night on the weekend. For what you get, Canciones del Mar still looks better. I used to recommend Mango Mar but heard from some clients the other day that it has really gone downhill.

Tangeri's room are a bit basic, but the service is great. We took chicas to Jaco with us so we were on Tangeri's grounds quite a lot and found it to be a great place to chill (outdoor pool table, bar, air hockey near the 3 pools and a nice place to sit in rockers in the shade while looking out to sea is there). You can order food from the kitchen to dine anywhere you like on the grounds. The deal comes with a nice free breakfast as well (8 dollar value for 1 person and double for a couple).

I tried to deal with the Tangeri by paying cash so they would take the tax (16% I think) off the bill, but they wouldn't do it. Maybe on a different day, different week they would, but who knows.
