The palms were properly greased and the place is back in business. Just walked out of there and the crime scene tape is down. Pura Vida

I am so ph*cking relieved... Broadway just informed that they picked up all my luggage from the sidewalk and returned it to my room. :)

Glad its back open...though I dont buy the "government mistake" line. I'm pretty sure they just paid up when push came to shove. As was mentioned previously, this has happened before there. I think the place is still for sale  ...

This is a nice place..........BUT........... BE CAREFUL, THEY WERE TURNING AWAY PEOPLE WITH RESERVATIONS AS EARLY AS THIS EVENING. Then all of a sudden they were open again. This is a risky place. My friends were waiting in the lobby and saw people turned away which almost resulted in a fight. Then after we left Zona Blue around 7 PM is was open again. Gave alot of BS reasons. My fondness for this place has quickly diminished. Trust me, it was a scary scene with everything taped up with yellow crime scene tape. The front desk was deserted (I guess that's a good way around the $25 chica fee). People were literally screwed and they had the balls to keep advertising on expedia.

This is true. They turned me away in the early afternoon. They did make a reservation for me, but this could have been averted. I never recieved an appollogy from Nixon via e-mail.....Not good business..

Pschyman -

Regarding that apology from Nixon... don't expect it either.

As far as know from Unal and Grahamne, Nixon is in England but due back shortly. The apology should come from the hotel management since these three guys have no control over the hotel's operation.

This morning I had breakfast and everything seems to be working quite normally. This is a very nice hotel indeed and the $80.00 all taxes inclusive w/breakfast and no chica fee deal is not a bad deal at all.

It seems the entire hotel situation is messed up one way or another in the gultch. Every hotel has one strike against it for something unless price does not matter...but it does to most of us.

$80 is a good deal these days? I used to get in the Morazon for $40, nice hotel, close to the action, no breakfast but I typically woke up in the afternoon anyway..

The standard room at the Prez with a king size bed for $51 per night and breakfast can't be beat. The chicas are catching on fast so the dress code is not a real problem. Hey, hand the guard a candy bar or pack of gum on your way out and I guarantee you won’t have a problem getting the chica in the door.

I'm in the Castillo right now. Great place decent rooms (too many ecotourists though but they are gone all day and I rarely see them) and the price is right. I used to like the Amon but funky things are going on there. I was going to stay there this trip but I was originally qouted $75 (tax included + breakfast included) when I went to book, they upped it to $80 per night then after I pitched a bitch and Nixon said he would give it to me for $75.

Nixon is a nice guy but is at the mercy of the hotel. Before I left on May 24th I was going to cancel the Castillo and stay at the Amon but didn't like all of the "new" rules including the $25 Chica fee. It turns out they are not hitting anyone over the head with the Chica fee especially last night when there was no one at the front desk. I'm glad they settled the problem because my two buddies are there.

The bottom line is that I hope it all works out for them. It's a nice alternative but they should cut the bs that they are giving Nixon. He can get people in the rooms. DON'T THREATEN A $25 CHICA FEE AND LET THE CASINO BOOK ADDITIONAL ROOMS FOR THE HOTEL.

Okay, okay already... everyone's different and YMMV.

When I mentioned that $80.00 all inclusive was a good deal it was more of a comparison with another well known hotel facility which is about $73.00 plus taxes adding up to around $80.00+ per night.

It all depends on what each person is looking for, and there are only so many rooms to be had after all. In essence, you get what you pay for...
