Another great stay at the Amon. Never had a problem there see my last review on it for details or PM me. Never asked me for a tica fee this weekend. The new 25.00 fee would force me to find another gem on the outskirts of the gulch. Never did see Nixon this trip but dropped some cash in the casino and emailed him that the stay was great as usual.

Hey Azcentral, glad to hear your stay was great. I'm booked there also for my 1st time. Do they give you all your breakfast tickets on checkin time or do you have to get them each day?

cheers

Once checked in you get an ID card to use on the propery. After the first day the waiters will recognize you and just need reminded of your room number. The staff there is great. Many of them remembered us from our trip in Jan. Breakfast buffet was 7-10am we seemed to make it there just before 10 each day.

You might want to wait till they clear up this 25.00 chica fee. Single rate has varied from 50-85 a night.

The Dunn in still has $47 rooms (queen size beds). They gave a 10% discount on top of that when I inquired whether they gave AAA or CRT discounts. Chica fee is $11.39.

Don't think that other's don't. In fact, since the Del Rey itemizes each guest visit as a "room upgrade" they probably charge the extra 3% tourist/hotel tax in addition to the sales tax.

Nothing the HDR does to extract an extra buck from a guest would or should be a surprise.

Does anybody have any updates regarding the $25 Chica fee. Also, the last I heard, the CRT VIP discount for a standard room was upped from $75 per night to $80 per night. I really like this place and Nixon is a good guy, but upping the VIP discount and also adding a $25 fee is not for me.

Anyone recently charged that $25 fee? Nixon's website http://www.casino-paradiso.com/ has the standard room at:

Standard Room $75 p/n all week
Junior Suite $100 p/n all week
$10 per extra person p/n

Any latest information on the place would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Broadway, I emailed nixon yesterday when I heard about the chica fee. He says this is true and only starts as of may 6 for room bookings. Never mentioned a rate increase.
