Opening on Wednesday, July 1st
The Sportsmens Lodge is reopening! In accordance with health regulations, the bar and restaurant will respect social distance. The hotel will operate at 50 percent capacity.

Reservation Flexibility
Due to travel restrictions, tourists are not allowed to board international flights to Costa Rica until July 1st. While the government may extend this restriction, the Sportsmens Lodge will reopen on July 1st. Customers may reschedule reservations as necessary.

Government may extend the prohibition on entry of visitors to Costa Rica beyond July 1st. Please check back for updates.

Unfortunately, our Second Annual Golf Tournament is postponed.

Although the bar and restaurant will be open during 4th of July weekend, the party has been canceled.

Hotel limited to 50 percent occupancy. Advance reservations encouraged.

Health Minister Daniel "the Hammer" Salas happened

I know the SL was open on Wednesday, July 1 and I presume it was also open on the 2nd. On the 3rd, health measures were increased for most if San Jose reducing restaurant hours by ordering them to close at 7pm on weekdays and all day on Saturday and Sunday. These restrictions are in place until at least July 13.

I have no idea what, if any, hours they are open until then the 13th. It sure would be nice if they would update this website, or even their own. It is kind of Business 101 to let your customers know when you are open and not leave them standing on the curb with money to spend.

For the near future, I would call before making a trip to go to the SL (or any other destination).

The boss man only comments when he's selling something. Who knows what's happening.

San Jose was reclassified as an Orange zone on July 3. Tighter restrictions. All restaurants are closed on weekends. July 4 fell on the weekend.

Talked to someone who was there yesterday, 7 customers there when he was in. Current hours are 11 am – 6:30 pm Monday – Friday, 50% capacity limit.

Entire central valley (GAM) is now on increased restrictions until July 19. No in-restaurant dining, driving only to grocery, pharmacy, clinics and only 2 days a week based on tag. Buses limited to 20% occupancy. Taxis still running. Time to hibernate for a week.

Sure glad the borders open in 22 days.
