Are rooms in the "Mansion" area considered part of the "modern wing?" In other words, would this offer apply to El Leon, Mono, etc. or just rooms like Hermosa, Vista del Sol, etc.?

Thanks ever so much!

Gentlemen,
This offer applies only to the Modern Wing. Look for other specials soon that may feature the Mansion Wing or others within our Hotel.

The Sportsmens Lodge made a web page just to showcase and book reservations online in the Modern Wing. I expect more pages for wings will appear in the future.

http://www.sportsmenscr.com/modern-wing/

When booking, depending on the dates you select the room may or may not be visible due to availability. So, here is a list of the rooms in the Modern Wing, excluding the Penthouse which is not included in the special rate.

STANDARD DELUXE AT $99 + TAX
ILUSION
LAS PALMAS
MIRADOR
VISTA DEL SOL
DEL MAR
EL DORADO
AMANTE

JR SUITES AT $109 + TAX
EL REY
HERMOSA

I am curious about the three classifications for booking the rooms at Sportsmens: Available, Sold Out, Unavailable.

I take it "available" and "sold out," means what the words say, it's available or it's booked. But, what does "unavailable," mean? That seems like an unnecessary third classification.

What's the difference between "sold out," and "unavailable?"

Just for shits and giggles, I'll take a guess........

Maybe "unavailable" means that the room is being renovated, or sumpthin' like that, so that it is not available to be booked and sold.

Is that too logical for Costa Rica :?: :?:

That's what I thought until I saw that EVERY room has those 3 classifications. Are they doing extensive renovations there?

I have noticed several times on the SL website that blocks of rooms by section (modern wing, mansion wing) will be "unavailable".

I haven't noticed by section, but I did notice, while viewing the rooms over 2 months for availability, that "unavailable" was sprinkled in between "available," and "sold out," hence my question about the difference.

I've noticed for a while now that SL doesnt list all their rooms on their website, and I've assumed it's because they are either booked or being held for reservation on a 3rd party website.

Gentlemen,

I was out of the San Jose area over the weekend to see this thread this morning. I am sorry for the late response.
The answer is that the room will show as “Sold Out”, if it was booked online and the room will not appear at all (Unavailable) if it was booked by telephone or email. This happens because the reservation/front desk staff takes the rooms out of inventory manually. In both cases the rooms are reserved, just by different methods.

I hope to see you all soon at the Lodge.

All the Best,
Bill
