If you still have not yet been to an Annual Sportsmens Lodge Superbowl Party - well, you have been missing the parties of the year! Each year SL swarms with Ticas, the famous Pilsner girls, a mariachi band, an amazing all-american football menu, an open bar (all you can drink), a score pool and the list goes on! The action at this thing is unparalleled by ANY event in Costa Rica anywhere, at any time. Gentelmen, this is THE reason to plan a trip to the gulch! Having been to 6 of these "Superfests" myself - I will be your guide to this year's event if you plan on going (READ BELOW):

The party starts February 2nd, 2014, approximately 3 hours before kickoff time (2:30pm Costa Rican time) - this thing is packed so I would recommend getting there even earlier if you can to grab your favorite spot. There are a lot of great places to watch the game because Sportsmens has so many screens - I prefer the bar area because I like to be right in the middle of the action.

The 'open bar' is all you can drink so long as you drink off their special menu (which is very nice in my opinion) includes: Costa Rican Beers, Smirnoff, Johnny Walker Red, Whisky, Jose Cuervo Tequilla Shots and a variety of sodas, juices, water, etc.

Food: SL creates a special game-day menu that is consistently brought to you by their beautiful bar staff and usually includes your usual, American football fare (hotdogs, nachos, burgers, etc.)

It all ends up being about 8 hours of food, drink, raffles, ladies and non-stop entertainment all for the price of the ONE TICKET - everything is included. It's an incredible deal!

Entry is $55 per person with a 10% discount for valid CRT VIP Card holders!

Tickets are on sale right now at the Sportsmens Lodge front desk (cash is preferred) You can also call 1-800-291-2798 (local CR number is 506-2221-0218) to make your reservation over the phone.

DO...NOT...MISS...THIS...PARTY ---> Take it from me - get your tickets ASAP as they go fast!

Gentlemen,

I Jumped the gun a little bit here. The tickets are not yet printed

However you can call and make reservations that will be honored until January 30th before payment will be required. We will not sell more than 200 tickets. Last year we had a few on game day morning until about 11:00am.

Thanks,

Bill

Unless something has changed from past years, the answer is no. It's a private event and all must have tickets. I think in the past, they allowed chicas in towards the end of the game, maybe mid-4th quarter, I don't remember. I'm sure Bill can answer that if you reach out to him.

It's still a great party. I have never had a bad time. So, it's a personal choice, so you must decide what your priorities are. The way I looked at it was like this... if I really wanted to watch the game and hang with my boys, I would go. If I was more interested in banging something, I wouldn't go knowing there would be no (or very few) available chicas.

You will need to buy them tickets. Can you imagine what a wolfpack of hungry chicas would do to all that free food and alcohol? The place would lose money. It's just not smart to let them in for free. The only chicas are those with tickets. And you know that they aren't buying their own tickets, so if they are there, they are paid for (on the clock).

Hey Bill,

Seriously, I arranged my trip so I can be there for this event but is there going to be more than Hotdogs and Hamburgers? We can eat that here in EL Gordo America. For EXAMPLE, I have been to many ALE HOUSES in FL and they charge 50 and have Crab Legs and Prime Rib. I could careless about hamburgers and hotdogs. Just imo.

N2,

Thank you for your question....The menu also includes Sea Bass fingers, Spicy Buffalo Wings and Chicken & Beef Taquitos. You can order anything you want from the main menu (New York`s, Rib Eye`s, Jumbo Shrimp Pasta etc.) but that is on you. Does this Ale House have an open bar included for 8 hours all you can drink plus the show we provide before & during the game included? Ability to wager on the game in-house, football squares boards, raffles and girls flooding in late in the third quarter to visit? If so you may want to stay in FL for the game my friend. :) However we would love to have you!

My hot dog will be in some chica's taquita during the game. But seriously, I have never heard of anyone having a bad time at Bill's party.

55 bucks for a Superbowl party??

I have been several different bars for superbowl activities, I recall a tremendous selection at all of them. Anyone remember the price it was last year?

Hey N2,
A couple of my boys and I are traveling there super bowl time and debating on where to watch the game now.
I will pm you my dates and we can hang out for a drink or something..

I agree, hamburgers and hot dogs, chicken wings dont sound to appealing to me either for $55, no disrespect BILL,
but also your alcohols are cheap low end side of brands. I would like to see a party menu full of american and costa rica foods myself to spend $55 or $50 with my crt discount.

Last year here in Montana there was a super bowl party charging $40 per person..
Ladies dancing on the bar, (2) wet t-shirt contest, anybody with social skills could have pulled ass at this party for free.
All you could drink open bar, all 30 beers on tap, captain morgan, bacardi, all flavors of absolute or stoli vodkas, jim beam and jack etc.. all mid name alcohols that a person could sip on or take shots...

The menu had baby back ribs, sirloin steaks, cheese steak sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, unlimited wings, salads, chips, nachos much more that I cant remember right now..

And the owner was talking about how much money he was making on guests for the party...
He permitted 200 guests also...The open bar and food was 2 hours before and 2 hours after the super bowl.

See that's what I was saying. I been to many in FL and catered so much stuff. They even brought in Bleachers and bigger TV's. It was called Findaddy's in Sarasota. The owners I knew have since sold it and I no longer live in FL. Hope to meet you there somewhere Traveler417.

Guys, I have been living here for nearly 5 months now, and I'm still blindsided every time I buy food and booze. It is much more expensive here. A liter of Flor de Cana 7 will cost around $20, Absolute a good bit more, Bacardi maybe a little less. Decent meats are very costly, and cheese, don't get me started. I made a 3 cheese dip for a Christmas party and the cheese alone sacked me for a $30 loss. Costa Rica is not Florida when it comes to prices. And don't forget the 13% IVA, that's a government penalty that will bring Bill's $50 down to $43.50 before the kick off. I know Bill and everyone at the Sportsman will go the extra yard to make sure it is a fun party for all. I have tried several sports bars in the area, and I challenge you to go into any of them and eat and drink off the menu for 8 hours for under $75. Unless you are on a water and peanuts diet, it will take a hail Mary.
