I have been to San Jose many times and while fun don’t see it as a place to retire. Is Jaco the only other option? If I learn Spanish can I find girls online. Looking for more of a sugar daddy relationship instead of a bunch of short time bar girls. Advice?

Many years ago, I was thinking of retiring in Costa Rica. Over the course of 20+ trips, I explored the various regions of CR. The areas that I found most appealing to me were Perez Zeledon (San Isidro del General... about 3 hours southwest of San Jose) and the area around San Ramon about an hour or so north of San Jose. The cost of living is less expensive than San Jose, quality of life is much better, and the opportunity to meet attractive, down-to-earth women is present as well. I hope things have not changed too much since I was last there. I really enjoyed these places.

There is an old saying, " you go to the beach for vacation, but live in the mountains ". The point is, the climate is much nicer in that part of the world.
