Mission accomplished ! I made my second border run yesterday to Penas Blancs, Nicaragua. I was one day over the 90 days, but not an issue. Took the Deldu bus at the Carib bus terminal downtown, $9, the exit tax was $7. and Transnica $10 for the return ride. Transnica is more luxurious. Upon Russ' suggestion, I bought an open bus ticket for $25, good for a year; from san jose to Managua. The immigration process took 70 minutes . I got lucky. Costa Rica exit stamp, Nicaragua entry ( $13 ), Nicaragua Exit ( $ 3 ).When I re-entered CR, I handed the officer my passport with the open bus ticket. He didn't blink or ask any questions. 6 seconds later, I was all set. The buses were the bulk of the trip. 12 hours round trip. I left the house at 4:00 and got back at 8:30 PM |
