Do any of you know about a company in San Jose called Essentials? Here's a link to their website. http://essentialscr.com/about-essentials/ I'm not promoting them because I don't know them. If any of you know about them please send me a PM if you are reluctant to post online. Other than appearing to be rather young (maybe inexperienced) they seem to be offering services that gringos can use in CR. |

I know nothing about this company. That being said their web site notes: "Our goal is to offer information, certainty and peace of mind to foreign residents, investors and property owners in Costa Rica regarding corporate, tax, business or personal matters that often seem or become complex for them in Costa Rica, just as we learned through our own experience." No such thing as "....certainty....." when it comes to anything "legal" in CR; no such thing. |

Steven1 I agree. Certainty is a concept held only in the mind of the young and the ignorant. As we age and learn, certainty seems harder to obtain. In this case, I'm asking for input from anyone with personal experience with the people in this company. I can deal with the ambiguity, although it's certainly trying at times in CR.

Lennydo, If you want to do business with them, they "seem" legit. However, you can easily do a background check on them. I think in Costa Rica, they call it a Datum report. This will cost about $500 for a "friend" rate or "referral." |
