I hope that Americans are ready for this once Universal Health Care starts up in the USA. Everyone will have health coverage, but it will be low-rate, shoddy coverage and you will only receive the treatment that the system deems you deserve. Rationing will become a fact of life. And good luck holding providers responsible in cases of negligence or incompetence. |

Don't believe that medical care tragedies due to incompetence, indifference and uncoordinated care resulting in timely death DO NOT occur in the USA with the BEST health insurance ..they DO, and I know this personally. The fact that this story happened in CR, in a caja hospital to a foreigner means nothing. |

And BTW, such medical care rationing IS a fact of life in the US--just others than a govt. functionary doing it. |
