why I live here and not there-- I can leave my house unlocked ( but gun safe is locked) with keys in my cars, when I am in SJ with no worries. Do not have to prepay for gas, and the joy of waking up to the sounds of bear trying to get out of my fenced yard, he forgot how he got in. Strangers who will stop and offer help if you are parked on the side of the road. Grouse to keep my dog happy. No poisoness snakes or bugs ( that's a real biggie for me). and Nothing in the water that will eat me.

That's why I take the trips to Costa Rica. 
After a month of that, the novelty of it has usually worn off, then it's time to get on the 'magic carpet' and head back home.
