yes, inquiring minds want to know why and how you did move and why it is CR and not other choices.

In the USA, They arrest men and put their picture in the newspaper for paying a woman for her time and services.

Costa Rica is close and convenient and seemed less dangerous than Colombia or Nicaragua.

For the fact that people who have less than shit manage to find happiness in life... whilst here in my home country, most people who have 10 times more than the average Costa Rican manage to bitch and gripe all the time.

Howdy Folks
I am very interested in this thread and would like very much some serious comments from you elder leaders who live there, everything from rents, to area's you prefer to live to what you do to occupy your day, Just how many Chicas can you take LOL

Really I am close to being out of work I may be forced out early on disability so I could need to make a decision this year.

Even stuff like how do you transport your personal belongings, I can get rid of most of my stuff, personal stuff is not important and I realize most can be bought there, But I do have close to a 5000 cigar collection I really need to keep. I have this for my retirement as I will not be able to afford my habit when I retire, I am 51 and have a nice 401K and if I go out on disability I have yet to determine what the monthly will be? the Lawyers are working on it. I have a back surgery I am trying to get approved, I am scared to death of this but it's the last choice I have and I need to have some quality of life, sex is okay but I can't move much after for a day or more. sad I know I have never had any problems before so this is a tough one for me to get used to. I worked hard with my body all my life and it is now catching up to me.

So friends any info you can share would be great and if you feel more comfortable in pm please share!

Thank You!

Dave

Seems like this would be the ideal time to sell your collection, if it is indeed part of your retirement. I can't imagine transporting, keeping and maintaining a 5000 cigar collection in Costa Rica.

I know it will not be easy, but maybe you can find a cigar locker in the US you can store them in? When you come back to the US periodically you could stock up. It would be a big hassle to transport or ship that many cigars to CR. If they get inspected, I'd imagine you'd get hit with customs fees.

One of the reasons I moved to CR at 56 was that I had just had back surgery. It was something that caught me by surprise also and made me realize that if I was going to enjoy life--especially the company of sexy young ladies--waiting to do it sometime in the vague future was a gamble I didn't want to take. Better to enjoy life while you can.

Nine years later and I have no regrets. The back problems have largely (although not entirely) gone away and its been all good. My advice is if you can make the move now, go for it.
