Can anyone recommend a lawyer for creating an LLC in the San Jose area?
I received a recommendation from someone and called their office repeatedly this morning. No one picked up the phone and the was no answering machine. Either I have the wrong number or this is a lawyer that I do not want.

Maybe he is so good and so in demand that his office doesn't have time to answer calls from numbers not already on retainer. If that's the case I'd rather try to hire him than someone who answers on the first ring.

How many digits does the number you're calling have (not including the 506)? The phone number should have 8 digits. They added an extra digit to the front of all numbers about 2 years ago I think, but many businesses still list them as 7. It it's a land line, they added a 2 and if it's a cell line, an 8. So if you have 7 digits, and it's a land line, add a 2 to the front of it, so 506-2XXX-XXXX

That could be why the phone keeps ringing as if nobody is answering.

To add a bit of info to that good advise Orange gave you the way to tell if it's a land line the first of the 7 digits will be 2,4,5,6,or 7. If it is a cell phone the first of the 7 digits will be a 3,8 or 9.

While I agree it is not a good sign if the phone is answered to swiftly I also would avoid a lawyer who does not answer his phone at all if you are not a client on retainer.

The second digit is a 5. So the number should be a land line. It rings but no answer.

Perhaps someone here might have a lawyer's phone number that provides an indiviual who raises the phone to their ear and says Ola (or Hello, which bizarrely seems to be solely used by Ticos when answering the phone) when that phone rings in their office.

I feel that the "phone answering" skill is something I require of an attorney, even if the person answering is a secretary, the cleaning crew, his mom, mistress, or someone else in the office.

For Sr. Nunez, try this Website:

This is info only, not a recommendation.

If it is so important for you to contact the person I think that you should try connecting with the lawyers association. They would have the details about the where to contact the lawyer. I know that the process would be a tedious one but you can try it if nothing else works for you.

If it is so important that you contact the person, I think you should try the connection with the Bar Association. Where they will go to lawyers for more information. I know that this process will be a boring person, but you can try, if nothing else works for you.
