I am looking to rent a car or SUV for one month, seeking the best rate.
Has anyone found a great deal out there ??

I have used this car rental company twice with good experiences both times. I've done Hertz and it was a rip-off. I only found out about the Fast CR car rentals from a fellow traveler who also stated he had a good experience.

There's an American guy who adverises in the Tico Times (see quote below). He may give you a good deal for a long-term rental. With the car rental places you are looking at $300-400/week for anything decent.

Europcar was 177.00 a week with taxes two weeks ago. check their internastional website for pricing (the local cr website does not price but the international one does)

Rumor has it that you can find better deals at Expedia.com (they have better prices for tourists)
