They finally installed a 3G tower at my house outside Los Suenos so I can finally get high speed internet and spend some extended time in Costa Rica. The house was bought through a corporation so getting service is no issue. Anyone out there using a 3G cell phone on the ICE network as a wireless modem? If so any information on the type of speed you are getting, type of phone, what devices are you able to support on the wireless network (laptop only or other wireless devices), what type of phone are you using and how difficult was it to set up? Any information you could provide would be much appreciated or if you know someone who sells cell phones in San Jose that I can talk to about buying a phone let me know. I will be in SJO for a week starting Thursday. |

i use the wireless modem with ICE in curridabat woks well, i bought the modem there in radio shack it a zoom and works world wide you put the sim card in it like a phone, the modem cost 120 there i have bought some extras now back in the usa and they are 60 here, it works the laptop , and the cpu computer, now i also bought a router from zoom that will allopw all wireless to work off it and also can hard wire 3 in the back, i'll be trying it all out when i return in august. |

Nokia n95 8g and probably all Symbian based mobile phone will do, make sure they are unlocked, what ever you chose to buy. Not sure the speed, but it works for general purpose. Slow for porn clips though, shame. |
