I posted here a few months ago that I would let everyone know when I saw an interesting deal come up (some were receptive to this...some just like to complain) Anyway...this condo was build in '07 and is about as amazing as a sub-1000sq ft condo can be. Take a look at this one if you are interested....Beautiful condo on the northern pacific coast with ocean views for $159,900. http://www.realestateincr.com/2009/10/1-bed-1-bath-condo-on-northern-pacific.html Link to photos / map / description |

Now we're talking about the right numbers. I have yet to "understand" how 3rd world(I love CR) real estate could cost more than US real estate ![]() ![]() ![]() CUIDADO! |

CC, Phuck THAT! I'm with you. There ain't no way in hell I'd pay US prices for something in a third world country. Because of all the foreclosures for that kind of money you could buy two or three condos here in Florida. Fanny Mae has a website called homepath.com. The homes they have listed have already gone through foreclosure and are owned by Fanny Mae. I've seen condos listed for as little as @25,000. Hell there is a home in my zip code that is 1191sqft, 3 bed rooms and 2 bathes for $65,000. http://www.homepath.com/listingdetails. ... d=19297177 Fanny Mae doesn't want to own anything so they are making deals right now to get rid of them and the housing market, I think is very close to the bottom here in South Florida and it is most likely still going down in CR. My guess is someone over paid a couple of years ago when things were smooth sailing and now times have changed and they're praying to unload it. I suspect there is going to be a lot of people in that boat right about now. Just my HO. KenL |

Absoutely KL, CR real estate numbers are way out of whack. Not to mention water problems, title issues, etc. The fall hasn't even hit the CR real estate market yet but it will. There is just no support for those numbers especially when compared to the US market. And yeah, people will compare. PURA VIDA! CC |

I wouldn't own anything in the U.S., so I certainly wouldn't own anything in Costa Rica. ![]() People are going to have to start adjusting to "the new normal." A lower standard of living.....is on the way. ![]() |

The condo market is worse than people think. I know several people that would like to sell but wont even list their units for sale. If you buy something, make sure you plan to own for a LONG time and still don't do it. Rent. |

I may have to take a look at that. I live in a rental down the street in Hermosa Heights, this may be right up my alley. |

Why buy a place built out of concrete that you find out 6 months in that the pipes allow sewer gas into your building and you are the only one that seems to notice or care. They don't put the "normal" vents in for the sewer gas so it backs up in various high dollar condos. This is something that you may not experience until the building is full. It's so nice to be able to pack your crap and move. Do not buy in Costa Rica before you have lived here for (3), Three years. |
