I have made contact with multiple people - mongers and ecotourists alike, who would be interested in a CR vacation. I am thinking about trying to put together a service complete with drivers I have already met, accomodations, etc. in a package deal - catering to the type of vacation the traveler wants. I think I could keep a nice house or condo reasonably close to 75% occupancy in the short term...

So I am hoping to find a furnished home or condo in Grecia, La Garita, someplace near the airport, or maybe Escazu....but would like to find an owner who is willing to rent in the short term...say a three-month commitment to possibly be extended if business allows.

I have done extensive internet research but found only week - to month-long opportunities for high dollars or good deals on extended leases....

What are the odds of finding a furnished place for a three-month trial?

Thanks in advance..

My first apartment was furnished and was rented on a month to month basis, no lease. I found it with the help of an English speaking hotel desk clerk who made some phone calls for me and spent an afternoon looking at places with me. The apartment was advertised in the Nacion.

The apartment was quite nice but was not targeting Gringos. There is a lot of turnover in apartments here and most people don't have the money for a first, last and deposit, so normally it's just deposit and first month's rent and you move out when you feel like it. My deposit was something like $75 dollars, of which I got half back, I seem to recall. Good luck.
