I was referred to an attorney by a respected CRTer and I ended up hiring him to handle a transaction and was pleased with his service. I don't have his contact information but I'll find it if you PM me.

FYI, the other CRTer who recemmonded him lives in CR and said he has dealt with multiple attorneys in CR and was "underwhelmed" with all of them except this fellow.

Hire two lawyers who do not know each other, one to do your work and the other to look over his shoulder

This guy did a great job on several things for me and I do have another lawyer that reviewed his work and said it was all very good if not perfect.

Facio & Canas (With a tilde over the n) used to do intellectual Property Work for my former employer. They speak great English, I heard that there have been some negative experiences with them by some members of the board so you may want to do a search.

I've tried to work with both firms mentioned in this thread and can't recommend either of the firms. YMMV.

KC,
A friend living in CR started my trips down about 4-5 years ago. He is unfortunately now deceased, but prior to his death he opened a restaurant inside of the Adventure Inn hotel. The hotel is on the right, just past Cariari as you're headiing into SJ. He used a lawyer named Jamileth.

He and I also bought a micro minibus and financed it to a Costa Rican friend down there. She prepared all the paper work on that deal. My friend was very happy with her work on the restaurant, never heard a complaint. The paper work on the bus covered all our concerns and was excellently organized.

Yesterday while browsing AMCostaRica.com, I noticed an add for a lawyer named Jamileth. Common name I know but I emailed her anyway. She quickly responded and it was her.

Checked AMCostaRica again today and she's on page two. Full name is:
JAMILETH DEL SOCOR NARVAEZ VALVERDE

I started to PM you but this way if others have had good luck with her, or not so good luck, they are free to chime in. Buen Suerte!
Soulcal

Could you describe some of the problems you encountered? :)

Did you find something else ? I am not sure these are the same as the firm I posted but I didn't find anything negative for any of them. Again, this is the one I used. I will say I think his fees are a little high but I know 4 other people that have used him for the last 5 years with all good success. I used him for 2 real estate transactions.

I also used this guy and he did a remarkable job for me and got something finished in two days that I had had a lot of headaches over.

I have met the female lawyer turned puta at HDR. She is the one with the black pageboy hairstyle and is always in a sixties style cocktail dress, correct?

El Viejo

If she is the chica I'm thinking about, then I'm guessing that she's had no more success as a prositute than she did as an attorney (not that I'm saying there's much difference*).

Ciaociao

Is this the older chica with small t*ts, a Dorothy Hammill haircut, who has her esposo sitting at the bar all the time, watching her ? She's always in a cocktail dress? If so, she was workin' it this weekend. And I watched her walk out of the HDR with an older gentleman on 2 different occasions.
