Just for some perspective, I live about like Flyboy but without the mountains. My bill in the Sunshine State of Florida last month was 22,000 colones for 494 kWh.

Thanks for the input, gents!

My other place in the mountains with no AC or heat but deep well with pump for water and a few other things (security lights) was about 50,000 colones (500 kws) per month tops.

I'm gonna run the AC here so I'm comfortable the first month to see where I am with cost and adjust from there, if necessary.

CNFL. who provides electric service in Escazu, rate would be 38,600 colones for 500 KWH. Then add in sales tax, street light fee and firefighter charge and you are at just about 45,000.

I never consume more than 145kWhs. I guess not having a water heater saves me some money. My suicide-shower seems to be more economic. :lol: Interesting to read what everybody else is consuming!
