Hi guys,

I'm wondering what you all (and most importantly the admin) think about having a new forum that deals with questions concerning living, working, investing, renting, and buying real estate in Costa Rica.

The reason why I ask is because at least every other week someone asks about what it would take to move down tthere, or where they should live, or should they buy or rent, etc. Considering that we have such a wealth of knowledge from people who are actually living down here (both retirees, business owners, and people employeed down here) this could be of great value to the members here.

I know that there are some arguements against it:
1) we already have a non-gultch related activities forum. The thing is, that forum primarily deals with sports, gambling, and touristy stuff.

2) There are other boards for those questions. Surprisingly enough, several of those other boards have closed. More importantly, there are certain aspects of the monger lifestyle that need to be taken into consideration for mongers moving down here, yet would be inappropriate to discuss on non-monger boards.

3)This board is about picking up hookers, not buying real estate. Yet, I'm certain the thought of moving to Costa Rica has been entertained by the majority of guys on this board, so I do believe it is a relavent topic.

4) We are already answering those types of questions on this boad, why create a new subforum? Because it would be nice to centralize all of this great information. Just like the international trip reports section and the novia/relationship section.

What do you guys think?

I'll take in under advisement after the votes are counted, note it will not be a VIP forum but in the General area.

I would vote Yes on this, I don't see what would hurt to have some expert information from some of our esteemed brothers living in country and make the information a little easier to find.

As long as it is not a big hassle for Admin 1....

Counte, I have asked you before to stop reading my mind and posting my thoughts on the board. :) I agree that a section may be helpful. It remains on my short list of retirement locations.

I think this would be a great idea :D
Just look at El Silencioso's countdown, he's going again, he might as well
move down there. Then he can give us free advice on investing :D :D

Newbe here

I think this is a great suggestion. I have found very knowledgeable and useful information on this forum from what is obviously regulars.

Thank you all for your help.

I feel it would be a good idea to have a dedicated section on Real Estate buying/Selling, investments, Retirement, etc. and keep the gulching we all love seperate.

Cheers

Will
