If I moved to CR does anyone know a good apartment no more than a 45 min uber drive from the SL
that is clean and not in a bad neighborhood. If so what is the rent a month

There is a website called Encuentra24 that lists properties for sale and for rent, and you can set it to show only houses or apartments for rent in whatever area you want to look. There are thousands of listings, and within the range of 45 minute drive lots of different areas. Rents in newer condo style buildings are in the $1000 US and up per month, houses generally more than that.

Moving to Costa Rica and hanging out at SL isn’t going to give you the best Costa Rican experience and broaden your horizons.

Embrace the “Pura Vida,” mentality and good things will follow.

Why set a 45 minute ring? Have you explored Tibas, Guadalupe, other barrios etc. close to the gulch but not in it?

Well, go on! Tells us what we’ll find. Don’t be so coy.

Not being coy whatever that means in this post just suggesting to get out of the gulch and San Jose to explore some of the closer in barrios to the north that seemed could be good places for us maybe to live and close by.

I do not know of any specific long term lodgings in either (not hiding info.) however have been to Guadalupe 4-5 times while staying in the gulch to go to Wal-Mart, Rosti-Pollo and Pizza Hut and seems like a nice chill place.

Tibas I went to a grocery store in one of the modern centro comerciales when I was sick from food poisoning a couple years ago to buy some safer food to help me recover and also seemed like parts there could be nice to live in long term.

Both of these are short side trips from the Castillo about 10-15 minutes by taxi or uber.

San Jose such a large metro however "our" main area in the northern edge of downtown so seems logical to look for places more northward.

Some on here report living further out Escazoo (editor won't let me use 'u'), Cartago etc. and love it!

My problems with Costa Rica (y Colombia y the D.R.) right now from living in Texas are 1) that Monterrey, MEX only a 46 minute flight from San Antonio and both Guadalajara and CDMX both less than 2 hours with all having abundant p4p options and 2) MEX had much lower dining and drinking costs.

Still love C.R. but even last year seemed more expensive to dine and drink even compared to U.S. Chicas still a strong value but a whole day to get there from TX when can get to MEX in half a day and still do the deed(s) lol!

Why I though of the 45 min ring is in case I want to go to the SL for Ticas ha ha. I do have the number of some I have known for many years however. Being in the lodge is being like Heffner.
