Not sure where to post this. But I want to hear from those of you who live in CR so It's going here.

In my last trip I made a point to bring back 2 bottles of Cacique Guaro to make chiliguaro for my friends at home.

Searching online, no two recipes are the same. One is simply just Guaro, tomato juice, and tobasco. Another, says to mince onions and carrots (carrots!?) to steep in the pitcher for a few days and then strain. Some call for local seasonings like Tajin Classico, Lizano Salsa, or Badias Complete.

If there were just a couple different variations I would play around with them to see what I preferred, but seriously no two have the same ingredients or proportions. So I am asking for recommendations. Please be specific, or even better please link to the recipe you know is the "right" one.

Thanks.

I've got a place close to my house that makes a Maracuya version which is awesome. Ask Kimberly at Little Havana about it. I wish I knew what they use to make it but they are very secretive about the recipe. Also they have a drink called Leche de Burra which is also tasty but no info on that one either.

Of course.

It should have occurred to me to ask a bartender first. She is sending me their recipe.

Thank you.
