To return to the USA, we’re required to show negative test, 1 day prior to departure. But, I just “recovered” from COVID last month. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of using the “doctors note” showing you recovered in the past six months in stead of the negative test? Pitfalls? Experience? I’m over CV19, but may still be testing positive. |

here is what I found from the Q&A section of https://www.ict.go.cr/en/documents/mate ... /file.html Question #12 Can I travel to the USA if I already had COVID-19 and recovered? If you tested positive on a PCR or antigen test within the last three months, and have complied with the isolation criteria, you may travel if you show the positive result of the test and a letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official, stating that you are authorized to travel because you have recovered. The positive result of the test and the letter are referred to as the "recovery documents.” If the recovery period is longer than three months, the test must be taken again. hope that helps. this is the original website: https://www.ict.go.cr/en/institutional- ... ector.html |

Had the letter last year with the positive test results. Had no problems going through airport. This year tested positive with a rapid test. Should have went to hospital to get tested and got the results. Can't get a letter for my trip in 2 weeks because I did not have a confirmed positive test result from a qualified lab. Stupid me. Going to test myself before I leave and if still positive from 4 weeks ago will get insurance incase I have to stay 10 more days. |
