When shit gets real.

I would suspect that the vast majority of us simply pays and plays with our companions in C.R. The "smart monger" hits it and quits it, right? But sometimes, we allow these women to touch more than our genitals. Friendships form with time and repeated exposure to a given chica, real emotions form, and before we know it... we're enamored at most, or feel a strong sense of friendship and responsibility at least.

I have two friends among the working girls who right now are suffering terminal illnesses. For the sake of their privacy and dignity, I won't mention names. One was in remission from cervical cancer but now appears to again be suffering the cancer, despite apparently successful surgery and chemotherapy. The other discovered back in July that she has stage 3 colon cancer, and is now suffering through chemotherapy. Either or both might die within the year.

When the fantasy of uninvolved sex grows into something akin to love, we get drawn in. Suddenly, we realize that our playmates are living, breathing human beings. Sometimes, real human beings have real tragedies affect their lives. And it hurts.

I know that neither woman, BTW is lying to me about her condition. In the case of the first lady mentioned, I attended not one, but two meetings with her oncologist at Calderon Guardia hospital. I saw her (so to speak) with a body completely devoid of hair after her first round of chemo. In the case of the second...well, after losing both parents to cancer, I know damn well what it looks like. And no, she's not lying either; she's never asked me for material support, only my patient ear and loving arms.

I don't know if you are a praying man or not. But even if you don't believe in a God, nor pray... I still ask you to hold positive thoughts for both women, and for any woman in this ambiente (scene) who is suffering.

God willing, I'll be in Costa Rica February 6-16, 2020. If you see a blind guy with longish grey hair, that will be me. If we're not yet friends, please come up and introduce yourself. I always like to meet new CRT friends. During my visit, I am sure that I will be doing what I can to help both of my amigas. Life is a bitch sometimes.

I wish your friends luck.

I witnessed Ericka from Idem battle breast cancer which she beat (or so she was told). A few months later she died from lung cancer.

Cancer is a horrible disease and even worse in Costa Rica as the healthcare is complete shit unless you can afford to go private. I have used the services of Hospital Cima and was quite impressed but for a major medical condition, the US is the place to go. Unless you have money and cannot get the treatment you need in the US, I would not hesitate to see a private doctor in CR. Prayers for your friends. There is a book called Many Lives, Many Masters that was given to me by one of the nurses taking care of my mom while she was on hospice care due to cancer as well. I was raised in a catholic household and was obligated to go to church but I have a more scientific mind and beliving solely on faith does not work for me. I do believe there is a higher authority but that book was very eye-opening and gave me a different perspective on death and put me more at ease about dying. I was able to read it cover to cover in about 3 hours and could not put it down. I keep a few copies of it on hand and give them to people that are dealing with a loved one who is terminal and just about everyone I have given a copy to has been extremely thankful at the different perspective it gives.

Thanks Ilv4Play for the book suggestion. Author? Latest: Girl with cervical cancer had an ultrasound yesterday and will have a CAT scan today. Doesn't look good. Her pain has increased tenfold. Again, although she is asking for financial help, I know that this isn't a scam, as I attended two oncology consults with her at Calderon G. Hospital. Yes, the public (caja) health care system in C.R. sucks. Perhaps a hint of what we could face here with "Medicare for All" where no private physicians will be tolerated...worse than C.R. if that happens, because at least in C.R. there are fine private doctors who rival the skills and education of their U.S. counterparts.

I have had contact with 3 different specialists in CR along with Dr Anglada and Dr Castro both dentists. All have been as good or better than the care I received in the states. My Endocrinologist was way better in CR
though

Not the place for a debate on various countries health care systems...but I can assure you that there are countries with public health care systems where the outcomes for anything you care to name (cancer, etc.) are as good or better than the US. If you want to compare to a 3rd world country's health care system...ok...I agree.

Cancer treatment is no fun. I know, I am a cancer survivor from almost 10 years ago. But, one stands a better chance of getting through it with a positive attitude and maintaining a degree of humor about the whole process.

Thanks El Moreno. Just got back from the Costa Rican Covid Clusterfuck. Survived. Nearly all chicas require condoms now for BJ's. Smart. Hand washing before entering nearly all stores/restaurants etc. Masks not optional. It was a very odd trip, for numerous reasons beyond the Covid 19 stuff. Will post a full report soon.

Regarding the girl with colon cancer: She survived and is doing fine, out of the business, working in Ch*ld care.
The other lady looked great when I saw her, but she will have another consult in mid - February, 2021.
Thanks again for the prayers.
