Post subject:  I wish this guy well!

So I get a FB message from a former favorita the other day. Guess what? She's getting married! So of course I call her to find out what's happening. Turns out some gringo (who stills lives in the U.S.), much to her surprise, proposed to her recently (within the past week, I got the impression). Of course she accepted. Already talking about her, her baby, and, yes, her mom moving to the U.S. (guess she doesn't realize immigration is not going to move that fast, especially for her mom!).

I guess she met this guy less than a year ago. Meanwhile we all know what she's been doing on SJO while papi rico was back in the U.S. - I was one of those who partook in the sweetness (most recently less than a month ago). I wonder about this guy. Does he know? He's gotta know, right? Does he care? Is he really into her? Or trying to help her out? Or get what he can out of her physically while giving her the gift of U.S. citizenship and some of his money?

I was honestly surprised to hear this news. Pegged her wrong (again). Starting to wonder if she's the classic greencard shark that I've witnessed many times before (disclosure: I was married to a Colombian for 7 years who was not a greencard shark, but I sure met some who were...some who made it past USCIS and some who did not). I'm thinking she is, although you never know for sure. Too much already thought out about it on her part given the "surprise" engagement it would seem.....seems like she's been thinking about this idea and reading up on it. But I don't know. Maybe the guy knows better, but can't resist the urge to bang a young chick in return for citizenship. Of course, it almost never lasts. I've seen a lot of that too....bringing them to the U.S., if not for the best of reasons, is often the kiss of death.

Will USCIS see through this? Will she answer the question about prostitution honestly? Or course not. If only I could be a fly on the wall to see how this all plays out. But I'm going to keep out of this one. But I imagine some day, some how (whether from her or one of her friends) I'll hear an interesting tail of woe....or of triumphant success.

Why does any of this surprise you - been going on for a long time - and its often ( although certainly not always - for a glairing exception to the rule, read Rolltide's*** saga) otherwise inteligent guys who fall for this nonsense. And yes, you are correct in your statement it seldom works out - I'd go so far as to say almost never

So much has been written on this subject that I will add but 2 comments:

1) He (the prospective groom) sounds like one big stupid idiotic JERK

2) Get where she is going to be living in the USA; her location - b/c as my friend John said way back in 8th grade

"Never marry a whore - in 6 months she'll get so tired of your ugly C*ck she will be out f.u.c.k.i.n.g. other guys...."

The count down has begun - YOU can be that other guy - but you gotta know where she is living - who knows, maybe close to where you live! Play your cards right and in less than 6 months you will have your own hoo - er in the good 'ol USA!

*** In addition to paying whatever fees to the site to become a VIP member of CRT, reading the saga of Rolltide should also be a requirement - all you have to do - <somewhat> seriously - is read his nonsense and do the opposite. See Johns comments above.

Also - unless you have read the saga - and been around when it was written, for that matter - to me you are not a real CRTer (kidding about the last part) :P

I am wondering,......... are they near the same age, does she have any skills other than being on her knees, does she speak English, can they both benefit from this endeavor, does she have a decent family here that she will miss, does she have any K*ds....or other close relatives...where will they be living? in a climate similar to San Jose...just curious

I think I know the chica that ColombiaLover is talking about. She and I made plans today to get together tonight while I am in town for Halloween. :D She's really great at sex and always enthusiastic. :D

She's really a nice girl that has made a series of stupid decisions. She speaks very good English, she behaves like a lady, always has a smile on her face and maybe weighs 85 pounds when her hair is wet. It's a mystery why she still sees me and other guys. Maybe she enjoys the sex or maybe the guy is sending her money for what she needs, but not enough for what she wants.

I have personally already homesteaded one chica for several years. This chica is one that when I first met her, i told a friend that she might be another one worth homesteading. Another guy beat me too it and that lasted until about 18 months ago when he kicked her out because she was pregnant with a Tico boyfriend. I also learned that she has a 5 year old that lives with the father's mother. She's only 22 now. I've talked with her about her upcoming marriage and she seems very unexcited. She says the guy is 60 and treats her very well.

She's not a conniving person at all so I don't think her motives are to get $$ from the guy. I think she is overwhelmed now with her life and sees this as an escape. But now i'm trying to explain the behavior of a young girl who is also a Tica. All of us who know her wish her well.

Most all of us have dealt with conniving gringas and the state where she is planning to move has many Southern Belles who will inform her quickly that she needs to dump this old guy and find herself a nice young doctor. Since she is only 22, she will be a personal threat to any gringa she meets above 30 years old. She's a smart girl but impressionable. I wish her and the guy the best but anticipate many problems....but they may still be less than the problems in her life here in Costa Rica.

To answer both Lennydo and Chili.....

Lenny, you are I are talking about the exact same person. My understanding is that the wedding already happened, but I only guess this based on what her sister told me. Heard she quit her day job. Also heard she's expecting to get papers by February. Kind of surprised she's still out with other guys....the guy must not be sending enough....or she needs money for other things that he doesn't know about - who knows.

Didn't see her on my last trip a few weeks ago and plan to never see her again. Hope it works for both of them - that they both get whatever it is they want out of this.

Chili - think your questions got answered (accurate) by Lennydo about age, English speaking ability, etc.

ColumbiaLover, The next step in this saga was only slightly different. Although I know that she got married in December, I sent her an email that I was coming to CR in late February and would like to see her. I promptly received a reply that she would like to see me and wanted me to call her when I got there. Initially no response to several calls and text messages.

I saw her sister at SL and was told that her husband was in town, but if he left before I did that she wanted to come see me. However, it didn't happen this time. He was there until after I had left. HOWEVER, I had a wonderful time with her sister several times! They look alike, Phuck alike and taste alike. :D 8) Pure GFE and wonderful chicas. I thought maybe I should write a Thank You Note to their Mom & Dad. :D :D

Hehehehehehehehe LOVE IT! :D :D

On the subject of "homesteading" ... I know of three gents who came back with young ladies from Cali Colombia over the years, who ended up estranged from them and their bank accounts depleted. All unique stories and circumstances, but the result is the same. The gals are with other guys, and the guy who imported them is alone, financially worse off, and in one case still financially on the hook. Was it worth it? Only they can answer.

Guys forget... at the end of the day it is only a pu*sy. Possibly a very "tasty" one, but as Lenny points out... you can always find one that tastes just as good ...

Post subject:  Re: I wish this guy well!

The reason that these relationships do not work out is because of misconceived expectations. I hear stories from my wife's amigas and they fall into 2 scenarios. One where the guy is a total sweetie in CR and when the chica comes to the US, he is a changed man. He is disrespectful (read: abusive), not romantic, and a totally different person. Or I heard one where the guy was a total slob at home, didn't shower much, never trimmed his nails, just gross. And he demanded that she do this for him and take care of his house, and wouldn't let her go out at all. The other scenarios has gringos promising them the world, big house, cars, lavish lifestyle where they won't have to work, etc etc, but it's grossly exaggerated. The guy is living week to week in a shitty messy apartment barely making ends meet on his 40k/year salary and massive unsecured debt. I think some guys think if they provide a chica with running hot water, she will think she's in heaven. It seems some guys just want a live in maid and sex slave to take care of them.

When the chica gets there and sees what she signed up for, the eyes start wondering immediately. And these are chicas that were really in love with the gringo, not just using them for a green card.

So, for any of you out there thinking of trying this "experiment"... makes sure the chica knows what she's getting into. Don't exaggerate how well she will live, if she won't have to work, etc. And don't change how you treat them once they get to the US. They are women after all, very insecure, especially being so far from their family and friends, they are all alone. They need you to support them (emotionally more than financially).

Since I am assuming that I am one of the three, I will answer the "was it worth it?" question just for me-not anyone else! Not no, but HELL NO!! The first two years (while she was still in Colombia) were fantastic, couldn't ask for a better lover, friend, partner, thou in looking back there were some tale-tale signs I should have recognized- especially those concerning money   . It was when a person I did not know (she changed totally) got off the plane in Miami that everything went to shit!!!!!!!!!!! I have heard this same thing from several other guys! Guess the answer is to keep them in Colombia, but then the main reason most hook up with us "poor dumb gringos"  is to get to the States. OH, and mine was a highly respected skin specialist and was never a "sex worker, though I later realized she sure knew how to use her looks and sex to get what she wanted. I have come to realize that is something that is just "bread into" and taught to all Colombianas and especially Calenas. Hell, to varying degrees, in ALL women everywhere!!

These types of marriages work for some, but not for most... even with a "non-working girl." It takes a lot of patience and understanding between both parties to make it work... even if there is no language barrier. There are always plenty of spectators in the peanut gallery to watch it go down in flames, though.

Actually wasn't including you, BB57 in the "three gents" ... just three guys I have met along my path through the world of latina loving... all gringos in their 50s and 60s from So Flo... and only one a CRTer...

Knew you had a similar story but thought your gal was from Bogota.

The difference between having a favorita you see exclusively when you visit abroad... and homesteading them for life in the USA is massive!!! I think most guys don't fully appreciate this or think things through. The main difference is NOW you have a full time girlfriend... and that comes with all the "drama" .... patience, understanding and "chica management" is a full time job now.  :( Didn't you enter the world of P4P to avoid this? :?: You can't just get on a plane and forget about her... she's yours for better or worse.

Re: The peanut gallery...

Yep.. Sucks but its true. The envious spectators love it when you validate their belief that it never works out. Truth is though, to the surprise of many it sometimes does.. even if only briefly. And you won't hear many success stories on monger boards...Those guys mostly just bail on mongering and disappear. The Rolltide and "Nothing like an Old Fool" stories however, will be more prevalent.

PR is absolutely correct. I would never take a favorita back to the States!! I am actually taking my favorita to Italy in a few months, but only traveling there from Costa Rica (no Visa for her). Never, ever make a working girl/favorita into a Novia! Beware!

Post subject:  Re: I wish this guy well!

Maybe I'm just an unrepetent dumbass, but I regret none of the $$ that I spent on her. I knew the issues and risks going in and freely gave what I was willing to give. The "No Fool Like an Old Fool" post was mine back in 2008. However, what I gave to her and what other guys after me have given to her seems to have been for naught. She has been given many opportunities over the past 8 years, but she just seems to prefer being a party Ho in Jaco while grandma takes care of her baby.

Would I do it again? I certainly might, but not with the same girl. Would I have different expectations and limitations? Probably so. However, if a guy does not lose his head and make promises he can't keep or be dumbstruck enough to get involved with a bitchy woman or a money grubber, then it can be enjoyable. You just need to have it clear in your mind what you want and what you expect.

The chica which this thread is about (and her sister) are the most cheerful and pleasant chicas that I have met in Costa Rica. They are also the most GFE that I have met in Costa Rica. I wish her only the best and while I think the marriage she's now in has minimal chance of success, I do not believe that she's doing it for the money. Perhaps she's just doing it because she too nice to say no. :)

How about this one, nice and simple. If she seems out of your league, she probably is. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. If there are five major differences between you (looks, culture, age, educational status, world views, ect ect) it is exponentially harder. One the it becomes a relationship, you are left with all of her bagage, all of your bagage, and all the bagage from how you met...Can it work, yes of course....Likely? Phuck no....

Roll the dice if you wish, but unless you can land someone like that back home, and visa versa, its is not likely to work..

NOTE- this is NOT in response to any one person, but to the general situation. I respect those who take the chance with an open mind and free will. Love certainly can heal all, at times.

Lennydo, I am the guy that bought your black recliner from you when you sold your home in Carari.

I have certainly listened and learned from your experiences.

I have tried to domesticate wild ones and lived and learned. I enjoyed it all.

I didn't have to make all the mistakes myself thanks to others lessons.

But the lesson from 2006 is the lesson for 2015.
