Getting ready for my trip down next month and I just need some ideas for a small gift for my novia's 8yo son. I have no clue what a young boy in Costa Rica really wants, lol. My step sons are over 18 now. Any ideas people? I'm gonna bring some of the usual school supplies and clothes, but just wanted to get something nice for the K*D.

Nerf guns that shoot soft projectiles will probably be a big hit. Spiderman pajamas, probably size 10 if he's 8. Spiderman belt $6.00 Walmart. Maybe a bicycle. I brought one, disassembled, in a suit case. Legos. All these things cost 1/2 at Wal Mart in the USA than what they cost anywhere here.

Hmmm... Lego. I completely forgot about that stuff. It's expensive up here now, probably twice as much down in CR. I might even have a couple of Lego kits squirreled away in a closet somewhere. My late wife loved to buy stuff on half-off sales and store it for gifts a year later.

I'd say PS3... that's PlayStation3 ($250). But if that's too pricey, go with Nintendo DS, a handheld video game system and a couple of games.

Go with the Legos, Hot Wheels, etc. Think of things we played with as K*ds. One thing I like seeing with Costa Rican K*ds is they do play with some old fashioned toys.

Agreed, Simple is better. You can get him some stuff that will get him out of the house and can play with other K*ds. I usually donate toys to K*ds down here and one of the things the the groups always told me was to get the K*ds stuff they can do without a plug. So if that is any help.

Ya, I already learned that buying expensive electronic gadgets is not wise. I once gave her a nice dvd player with a library of movies I burned to work on it and less then 3 months later, she got in a fight with her puta hermana and the dvd player got tossed and wrecked. And the last thing I want to do to these K*ds is to turn them into the mindless xbox playing zombies we have up here, LOL. I think a good Lego set and some art supplies. Let their imagination flow... :D
