Not sure why this thread was started but lots of good points; Fred recently weighed in on this and he says there is no longer any reason to marry, unless you want to have K*ds and even then, its not totally necessary. What you have is a legally binding contract with the other party sanctioned by the state that is very hard and very expensive to break. Can you afford to lose 50% or more of your net worth?
