Puta logic. Or perhaps better said, Puta illogic. I have only just recently tried to wrap my mind around it. Spent quite a while lately reading the threads and pondering the subject as a result of a month long aventura with a former favorita that went bad. My handicap is that I've never watched telenovelas. If I had, I would have known which script to follow. We were not acting from the same script, so how then could we be on the same page? I don't regret trying out for the audition but the role is not mine. However, each audition provides something from which to learn. Hmmmm...... what have I learned??

I have learned that the majority of putas enter the ranks at an early age. I recently had a puta aquaintance offer to bring me her fourteen year old neighbor girl. When I asked her how old she was for her first negocio she said she was about thirteen or fourteen also. Bang Bang has testified that it is not uncommon in the barrio of Hatillo for virtually all the girls to be putas. It has also been stated that most sex workers are victims of incest. I imagine the girls reach a point in which they decide that if they're going to give it up, they might as well get paid for it. My ex alluded to something terrible that passed between she and her father. I didn't ask for details but I think I can fill in the blanks. If my assumption is true, it goes a long way to explain the behavior I encountered during my little aventura. Many of these poor girls learn to be manipulators as a matter of survival. I don't believe that my ex's behavior was conscious or calculated. I don't think she was out to take me for everything she could. But her behavior is dictated by the need to survive today and her inability to prepare for the future. She thinks about the future and she wants to prepare for it but every time she starts to get ahead there is another expense. That's life for a single mother of four anywhere. How can she plan for the future when she has her hands full with the present?

There is a cultural divide that exists between the puta and gringo which is seldom traversed. I have tried to cross it but had to turn back. Was it worth the trip? Yes. Will I do it again? Not for a while, I'm still feeling a little worn out.

From an online source:

Incest is an immensely serious problem in Nicaragua, as it is in the rest of Central America

In Costa Rica, 95% of pregnant girls who are under the age of 15 are incest victims.

Muchisimas gracias Esteban. For me all the pieces of the rompecabeza fall right into place. The nymphomania, the manipulation, the imaturity. In short, everything.

I have no doubt that incest is a problem in Costa Rica as it is in many developing countries. However, to take a line out of a magazine article that offered no factual evidence to substantiate their claim is how a figure, which is of dubious origin, is used over and over in discussions until it becomes accepted as fact.

Simply put I believe the claim that "In Costa Rica, 95% of pregnant girls who are under the age of 15 are incest victims." is exaggerated and made without factual data to support it.

I read someplace a statement made by Mark Twain that there are three kinds of lies. Lies, damned lies and statistics. Being a skeptic myself I can appreciate your position Drifter. Statistics aside my gut tells me that the majority of pregnancies under the age of fifteen are incest victims. I am curious how the statistics compare between the US and CR. In any case I have the impression that all of the true nymphomaniacs I have known in my life (and I've known a few) have been incest victims.

I totally agree that incest is a large problem in Costa Rica. My problem was taking a figure printed in a magazine article, that offered absolutely no supporting data, and offering that up as a fact was misleading. As I stated, all to often that unsubstantiated number is picked up by some and used at a later date to bolster their position in a discussion. Over time the figure is used so often it becomes a accepted as fact when in reality it was nothing more than a figure in a magazine that had no reference that could be used to determine it's validity.

That is exactly what happened with the Himmilaya's glaciers melting story. A mistatement that was qouted at the UN as fact.

Been there, done that, and reached pretty much the same conclusion - your post was honest and resonates with many more members on the board than you will ever know. I believe most of the hardcore - "treat them like putas" members on the board - went down the same path before developing that hard edge.

Peace, love, and happiness for all,

Don Rico

Yes, I admit, I tried to commandeer the boat my first trip... YEAH RIGHT!.. almost though. That was until she took me to the cell phone store after we hit the SJ mall. I wanted to buy her a dress, she asked at the mall to instead to help pay for a $16 dollar "part" that turned out to be a actual $160 layaway repair.. LMAO... (shes an MP girl..Yes, I had to learn the hard way..smh)..I saw her big wad of money in her purse/wallet in the taxi before we got to the stores. I made her pay for food and taxi all day.. I ended up helping her with twenty bucks  for the repair and I witnessed her fork over the rest ($140 bucks) for the $hitest touch screen ever (I'm thinking to myself doesn't she have two K*ds that could use that money for comida).

After the cell phone purchase, we held hands, walked through town, flirted, She bought me a smoothie and we chilled in the park. On the way to the park though she says, "Remember I said I had to go to allueja (near the airport) today". I'm like NOPE WTF? Also, While walking, she mentions that she needed to see her lawyer friend "Christen" in alleuja (near the airport) and she was gonna take the bus to see him....."besos".. she says, as she hangs up with him after telling him shes gonna come by. Right in front of me.

I thinking didn't you just ditch work to hang out with me ( I saw the caller I.D. of the MP calling her while she was with me). it was my last day.

I asked why she needed to see a lawyer? She said it wasn't for her but for an amiga that was locked up...I'm like christen is business right? I know what you do for a living, you don't have to lie, she gets pissed and says, "I don't have sex with everyone!". Why would I lie. She knew I was headed to the airport in a taxi (free ride, @ 20 bucks, why not right??). It was to easy..As we proceeded to chill in the park one of those young annoying peddler types comes buy to sell us those over sized I love you cards.. She buys two "there for the K*ds room", she says.. SMH.. The ride to the airport was silent, I just wanted to get the hell outta SJ at that point... As the taxi driver (from the hotel) is about to drop us off.. I asked him to just drop us by the bus stop (which is walking distance of the departure area). He replies, "where she going", she says, allueja, he says, "ill just take you".. I'm like.. WOW..GREAT!!! ...What a nice guy... YEAH phucking RIGHT....Her day off wasn't really gonna be a day off after all..SMH... I get out like PEACE BITCH! She jumps out behind me grabs me and gives me a long smooth one, jumps back in the taxi rolls the window down and blows me the good ole bye bye beso as they drive away, her now in the front seat..

It was all HI-fucken-larious if you ask me. She was my NOVIA potential for the next trip??? Try Whorevia for the next trip now.. if i even bother calling the breeze.. I doubt she emails me..

BROS don't do it to yourselves thinking she might end up falling for your gringo ass...quit her job and love you... I almost did based on the fact I didnt pay her for services after our first two sessions at an M.P. but its all relative after drinks and food I guess...$hit maybe I'm wrong altogether and she did like me, didn't bang the taxi dude or christen, but my gut tells me otherwise.

DR DRE said best when he said "YOU CANT TURN A WHORE INTO A HOUSE WIFE" in 2001 and then a few years earlier on the chronic album he said it best when he said, "BITCHES AIN'T SHIT BUT HOES AND TRICKS".. This MY BROTHERS is especial true in SAN JOSE. keep your heads up down there.

Someone might chime in with a success story but I'm guessing this is few and far between or the exception to the rule and took hard work and a lot of money..IMO don't try to commandeer the ship at all...Just go down bang em, come home and find you a good dorky one, otherwise your just asking for CR chica blues..

I like developing a favorita or two but I don't let things go too far. Nor do I let them play me. But we do develop something, a little chemistry, I reward them with some gifts. If the chemistry stays, I throw in some extras in appreciation along with the dolares for the time. And we end up spending time together other than just en la cama. If they start disappearing for K*ds, for other BS and ditching me, I tell them three strikes and it's over, and have dropped a few once they failed to catch on that I know BS when I smell it.

Plus, when they start trying to play me, I can play them right back. All is fair, right?

My heart shriveled into granite as far as Love is concenred after my first and only marriage. The only people I love are mi familia and me. That's it, and that's the way it's going to stay.

Frequent trips to Costa Rica might led anyone into the that of web. I know of some success stories and they live next door to me in Costa Rica but I have also met some not to happy dudes.

I have tried and ran when I got a chance. The drama was no much to handle.

Keep your head up and your guards up an you should be able to ride the storm for awhile. The key word awhile.
