i also heard its like a lottery..it really depends on luck whether or not they are granted a visitor's visa. They can have all sorts of proof and ties to home country but will still be denied visa.

If anybody has any info... Somebody asked me if I knew how much a chica should have in a bank account to convince the US embassy to grant her a visitor's visa. I suspect it's no set amount but perhaps somebody has some info on this, some amount that wasn't enough or was enough. Anybody? |

It's not so much about the amount of money in the account, as it is the history of deposits. Anybody can deposit $3K a month before the interview, that means little. When you go to the bank to get the history, they provide a history, I think they send it directly to the embassy. It's the history for the past year or two I believe. They look at that more than the amount. If they see a stable pattern of weekly/semi-monthly deposits, they know she has a job. |
